The 32-year-old had only been with the department for two years. Now, the community of Plainfield is in mourning.

Firefighter Marques Hudson was a father to three children. He was born and raised in the city of Plainfield.

SUSSEX, Wis. - A Wisconsin family is living a nightmare after their 8-year-old dog was killed and their babysitter accused of the crime.

The family of Batman, an 8-year-old Chihuahua, says they had their longtime babysitter over Thursday. When they got home, they couldn’t find the dog and reported him missing on Facebook.

NASHVILLE, TN - Students in Tennessee made the grade after they identified a possible suspect in a string of cold case slayings. And for extra credit, they landed their own true crime podcast that explains how they cracked the case.

WICHITA, KS - A statue of baseball superstar Jackie Robinson is missing from a Wichita, Kansas, park and presumed stolen.

Wichita Police announced that they had security footage of a silver truck driving off with the Robinson statue from McAdams Park after two men were seen sawing the statue at the ankles Thursday. The feet were all that remained on the podium following the crime, which Wichita Council member Brandon Johnson referred to as a “disgusting act.”

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate's office said the bill "clarifies which objections the objection panel has jurisdiction to."

Under the proposal, the three-person panel could only review objections when it comes to a candidate's paperwork and whether they meet the legal requirements to run.

🚨The Village of Birch Run, Michigan doesn’t record or live stream their public meetings. They’re not legally required to, but I think it would be something good to do for transparency. I talked to the village president who did not want to touch the issue.
