Trump’s Victory: A Major Wake-Up Call to Mainstream Media

In a shocking turn of events that defied the expectations of political analysts and media powerhouses alike, former President Donald Trump secured an election victory that has sent shockwaves across the country. For many, this result isn’t just about politics; it’s an undeniable indication of a broader trend: the growing disconnect between mainstream media and the public they purport to serve.

Mainstream Media’s Dwindling Trust and Engagement
For years, mainstream media has been viewed as a cornerstone of American democracy. However, this perception has been shifting. According to a 2024 Gallup poll, trust in mainstream media has hit a record low, with only 26% of Americans expressing confidence in national news organizations. This erosion of trust is echoed by declining ratings and readership. For instance, CNN’s prime-time audience has plummeted by 40% in recent years, while other major outlets, like MSNBC and The ...

NEW YORK, NY - The collective leftist meltdown following Donald Trump’s election victory was not limited to just expressing outrage.  Google also experienced in surge in searches for “move to Canada” from Americans seemingly eager to escape north of the border. Other associated searches that trended include “How to move to Canada with no money.”

Now Toronto reports that as the dust settles on the 2024 race, with Donald Trump emerging victorious over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, many leftists are apparently considering a drastic move – to Canada.

According to data from Google Trends, searches for “move to Canada” skyrocketed in the U.S. around 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, just as Trump was declared the nation’s next president. The top five states leading the charge were Vermont, Maine, Oregon, New Hampshire, and Minnesota – all of which were projected to be won by Harris.

The search trend is reminiscent of the 2016 election, when Trump’s surprise victory over Hillary Clinton prompted a similar flood of interest in emigrating to America’s northern neighbor. This time around, related queries that saw a massive uptick in search volume included “Cost to move to Canada from U.S.,” “How to move to Canada with no money,” “How to get a visa for Canada,” “How to be a citizen of Canada,” and “Jobs in Canada for Americans.”

Trump’s victory is historic on several fronts and he will be the first former president to return to the White House since Grover Cleveland in 1892. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Sleepy Joe is looking bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and ready for retirement in Rehoboth Beach.

In the wake of Kamala Harris’s crushing defeat to Donald Trump, President Joe Biden addressed the election results Thursday in a speech at the White House. Appearing chipper and energized, the outgoing president urged Americans to accept the outcome and dial down the political rhetoric.

“Something to hope we can do, no matter who you voted for, is see each other not as adversaries, but as fellow Americans. Bring down the temperature,” Biden said. “I also hope we can lay to rest the question about the integrity of the American electoral system. It is honest, it is fair, and it is transparent, and it can be trusted, win or lose.”

Biden has not seemed this happy and this coherent since the early days of his presidency. I think he’s feeling an incredible amount of schadenfreude, the icky yet pleasurable feeling you get when you witness a rival’s downfall, and a sense of accomplishment for being the only Democrat to have ever defeated Trump. HAWAII - KAPOLEI, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow/Gray News) - The race for the White House is reaching classrooms and one lesson has some parents raising their eyebrows.

The controversy is over a two-page document that was handed out to classrooms at Kapolei Middle School in Hawaii.

The assignment broke down where the U.S. presidential candidates, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump, stand on the issues.

The Hawaii Department of Education confirms the document was put together by a group of teachers at the school who simplified the information in a candidate comparison article from the New York Times.

The material given out to students lists their stances on six issues, including crime and immigration.

The lesson is upsetting some parents like Angel Morales, who felt it was biased against the former president.

“Very upset,” Morales said. “I think teachers should do their job as teachers; stick to education and not politics.” Click here to read more.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Although the death toll has now exceeded 230, other news has largely pushed Hurricane Helene off the front pages. Yet, there will be years spent rebuilding lives, homes and even cities.

Tennessee deer hunters are there, largely behind the scenes, helping in those relief efforts.

Hunters for the Hungry (HFTH) is a decades-old program of the Tennessee Wildlife Federation (TWF). Through HFTH, nearly 10 million servings of venison have been donated to Tennesseans in need since the program’s inception. It was 2016, however, when HFTH Program Manager Matt Simcox saw a special need.

Whether it's tornadoes or floods, victims and relief workers need food. As news spread of the deadly flooding and devastation in North Carolina and East Tennessee, Simcox begin reaching out.

"This hurricane hit on the opening weekend of the archery deer hunting season," said Simcox. "I called the processors I work with in East Tennessee just to check on them and make sure they were okay. I told them that as deer were brought in (for HFTH), we would send it to immediate relief efforts, where people were actually cooking in the field. There were lots of people volunteering to cook for those in need, but they needed meat."

Simcox said one of the first processors he spoke with, H&H Market near Elizabethton, Tenn. told him they would donate their services and process those deer for free. He also promoted the effort on social media and Simcox said in a short period of time H&H Market processed and donated more than 50 deer for the Helene relief effort.

YEMASSEE, S.C. - Authorities in South Carolina are trying to capture 43 monkeys that escaped from a primate research facility.

According to the Yemassee Police Department, the escape happened at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center. Police say 43 rhesus macaque primates got out of their enclosure and are on the run.

Police say staff from the primate facility "have eyes on the primates and are working to entice them with food."

The primates are all very young females weighing 6-7 pounds. They’ve never been used for testing because of their age, and they’re too young to carry disease, police said.

"The public is advised to avoid the area as these animals are described as skittish and any additional noise or movement could hinder their safe capture," police said. "Residents are urged to keep their doors and windows securely closed and to report any sightings immediately by dialing 911. Please do not attempt to approach these animals under any circumstances." OAKLAND, CALIF - Voters in Alameda County, which includes the city of Oakland, have recalled District Attorney Pamela Price, a George Soros-backed prosecutor who adopted “criminal justice reform” policies unpopular even with left-wing residents.

The San Jose Mercury News reported:

The recall targeting Alameda County’s top prosecutor resulted in success Tuesday night, potentially striking a blow to progressivism in the criminal justice system across in one of California’s bluest enclaves.

In unofficial final results posted by Alameda County early Wednesday, District Attorney Pamela Price became the first elected district attorney to be recalled from office in the county’s history. Voters voiced support for removing her from office less than two years into her first, six-year term, though final results could take days to be finalized as city and county election officials continue to count ballots cast on Election Day.

In voting, 64.8% of the electorate voted to recall Price, while 35.2% voted to keep her on board.

Price was one of scores of radical left-wing prosecutors funded by Soros in recent years, many of whom arose during the Black Lives Matter movement.

Crime became so bad in Oakland, which adopted “defund the police” policies, that Price’s own laptop was stolen from her car. In addition, Price was accused of nepotism after hiring her boyfriend despite concerns about his record. Click here to read more.

As votes continue to be counted, Donald Trump’s lead feels so massive that it’s hard to see how Kamala Harris didn’t significantly underperform the Biden Benchmark of 2020. She didn’t just blow it; she blew it bigly.

In 2020, there were 81+ million votes cast for Biden and 74+ million cast for Trump — a grand total of over 155 million votes. Currently, there’s about 138 million total votes counted for the 2024 cycle. Trump is less than 3 million short of his 2020 benchmark, meaning the bulk of the almost 20 million vote deficit is coming from the Harris camp. Of course, votes in some of the big blue states will continue to trickle in for days (or weeks?!) after the fact, and Harris’ final count will continue to rise. But this is still a drastic difference for the morning after; where the hell did all these Biden loyalists go?

The West Coast is most glaring: Harris is over 800,000 votes short of 2020 numbers in Washington (64% reporting);  400,000 votes short in Oregon (73% reporting); 500,000 votes short in Colorado (76% reporting); and a whopping 5.5 million votes short in California (58% reporting). This will likely continue to narrow. But take California, where the split is 57% to 40% Harris. If she stays on the same trajectory, that will still put her almost 2 million shy of Biden’s 11+ million votes in the state. Even if she ramps it up to Biden’s 63% to 34%, that’s only 10.3 million votes for Harris. Click here to read more.

LANSING, Mich. – Republican State Sen. Ruth Johnson has asked Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson for information about what processes are in place to prevent noncitizens from voting. Johnson claimed there were 34,535 individuals “whose name, date of birth, and Social Security numbers do not match any record found in the Social Security database.” Johnson said those people may be noncitizens.

Johnson stated the information came from the Social Security Administration’s Help America Vote Verification system, which she said in a press release was used by state officials to verify new voter registrations. Johnson, who served as Secretary of State from 2011 to 2019, made her claims in light of a University of Michigan student from China who was a nonresident who voted in the 2024 November election.

The student voted Oct. 27 and faces criminal charges. “We have no system to check if people are registering or voting who are not eligible,” Johnson said in a press release. “The only way the student at UM was caught is because he requested his ballot back from the clerk.” Click here to read more.

NEW YORK — Mayor Adams on Thursday applauded a drone initiative that’s aimed at cracking down on subway surfing, following the deaths of six people this year, including two teens who perished while subway surfing just in the past week.

Adams touted the NYPD’s drone program as a way the city is working to prevent more deaths.

“We will see the lives that are lost, but rarely do you get the medal for the lives that are saved,” the mayor said at a press conference outside a Queens school near the aboveground No. 7 train. “And these offices and this team and this technology is saving lives.”

The aerial drone program started last year as a pilot initiative and was made permanent this June, NYPD officials said.

The NYPD has two drones that are put to work during the after-school hours from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. flying above the J, M, Z and 7 subway lines to alert officers on the ground if a subway surfer is spotted. The officers then apprehend the daredevils at a subway station and take them into custody. Click here to read more.

NEW YORK, NY - If it weren’t for the election season swamping news coverage, odds are more people would be talking about the revelation that, to quote a Bloomberg headline, “The World Bank Somehow Lost Track of at Least $24 Billion.” In fact, that may understate the reality: the World Bank’s “accounting gap” could be as big as $41 billion. The missing funds in question were for “climate finance” projects, “financed by taxpayer dollars from its member countries, the biggest being the US.”

According to the Oxfam report that was the source for the Bloomberg story, “There is no clear public record showing where this money went or how it was used, which makes any assessment of its impacts impossible.” It is possible that much, maybe even most, of the missing money went to the intended people and purposes. But only the hopelessly naïve would dismiss the probability of rampant waste, malfeasance, graft, and outright theft as explanations for that “gap.” Spending of such magnitude and velocity with sloppy oversight is an invitation to thieves.

But the oversight scandal at the World Bank is chump change compared with the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and its massive planned “climate finance” program. The misnamed IRA is, in the words of its advocates, the “largest climate policy in US history.” [emphasis added] The law’s ambitions dwarf those of the World Bank. MILWAUKEE, WIS - Milwaukee County will run 31,000 absentee ballots through counting machines again after “human error” left the doors of the machines unsealed during an initial count.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported:

Milwaukee’s central count location will rerun about 31,000 ballots after a “sealing” error with the tabulation machines was discovered at the downtown site, potentially delaying a final count by one to three hours, city spokesman Jeff Fleming said.

“It’s just out of an abundance of caution. We have no reason to believe that there was any compromise to any of the machines,” Fleming. “But because they were not fully sealed — human error — and not fully sealed, we are going to zero them all out again … and then rerun the balance that had already been processed.”

Caroline Reinwald, a spokesperson for the Milwaukee Election Commission, said that the doors had not been properly closed for the tabulation machines.

Reported about the problem circulated on social media as well. Click here to read more.

NEW YORK, NY - CNN anchor Jake Tapper appeared stunned Tuesday during a live broadcast as early polling data revealed a dramatic 20-point shift among independent voters in Georgia toward former President Donald Trump compared to what President Joe Biden got in 2020.

During CNN’s “Election Night in America” coverage, Tapper seemed surprised by the results of Georgia’s exit poll centers for independent voters who now favor Trump by 11 points. These results are a dramatic reversal from the 9-point advantage Biden held four years ago.

“Independent voters, they make up 31% of the electorate, that is a slightly larger share than what they made up four years ago. Trump is winning them by 11 points in these early exit poll results, 54% to 30%,” David Chalian told Tapper. ” Jake, four years ago, Joe Biden won independent voters in Georgia when he won the state by nine points, so we’ve seen a swing of 20 points towards Trump in terms of the margin, from a nine-point advantage four years ago with independence for Biden to now an 11-point advantage with independence.” Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON — A caravan of approximately 3,000 migrants marched toward the U.S. from Mexico Tuesday as Americans took to the polls to decide their next president, according to Reuters.

The migrants reportedly carried banners reading slogans like "NO MORE MIGRANT BLOOD.” Some also carried images of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a religious symbol important to many Mexicans.

"We want U.S. authorities to see us, to see that we are people who want to work, not to harm anyone," a Honduran migrant told Reuters.

He was reportedly joined by his two children and his pregnant wife.

Another migrant reportedly said they marched to draw the attention of the presidential candidates to their struggles. Click here to read more.

OMAHA, Neb. - More than a month after a fatal crash, a woman was formally charged with the deaths of four people, including her own children, after authorities said she was driving drunk at nearly 140 miles per hour at the time of the wreck.

Rachel Bickerstaff, a 33-year-old Omaha, Nebraska, woman, cried in her wheelchair during her court appearance on Thursday.

Bickerstaff was booked into the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday after being hospitalized for weeks in Kansas with severe burns. A warrant was issued for her while she was in the hospital.

State authorities asked that Bickerstaff’s bond be set at $5 million; the judge agreed to the request and scheduled her preliminary hearing for Dec. 9. Click here to read more.

CHICAGO — A Chicago police officer was shot and killed Monday night in East Chatham, according to Chicago police Superintendent Larry Snelling, who said the 26-year-old officer “gave his life for this city.”

“The wounds were too great for this officer to recover,” Snelling said, who called such policework unpredictable.

“There is a family suffering right now,” Snelling said, declining to immediately release the officer’s name.

Mayor Brandon Johnson called for the city to embrace the family of the officer, who was just shy of three years of service in the department.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with this family, and as the city of Chicago , we will rise again,” Johnson said. Click here to read more.
