DETROIT, Mich - When it comes to illegal immigration, most eyes have been on the U.S. Southern border.

However, the U.S. border with Canada is also experiencing an increased influx of illegal immigrants.

As reported by The Center Square, the border between Canada and New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire is reporting record numbers of illegal crossings. The Swanton Sector U.S. Border Patrol in Vermont reported a record 1,109 illegal immigrant apprehensions in March, according to The Center Square. In March 2021, only 37 immigrant apprehensions were reported.

Last month also broke previous records, as April 28 to May 4 saw agents apprehend 492 illegal border crossers. Quoting Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia, the article notes that the number exceeds the 365 total arrests for the entirety of 2021. Click here to read more.

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF - San Francisco offers a $5 million program for homeless alcoholics to receive free alcohol. The city says its Managed Alcohol Program is in place to help stabilize drinking patterns.

While the program has supporters who say it works, it has received criticism from local leaders. The San Francisco Department of Public Health described MAP as “interventions that aim to reduce the harms of severe alcohol use, poverty and homelessness.” Click here to read more.

NEWARK, NJ - A black man from New Jersey was charged in federal court with threats after allegedly planning a mass murder of white people, who he said were privileged.

In December 2022, federal prosecutors say Joshua Cobb wrote online that he wanted “to cause mayhem on the white community,” according to court records filed late last week.

“The reason i specifically want to target white people is because as a black male, they will NEVER understand my struggles,” Cobb wrote, according to the prosecutors. “Same way I will never understand their struggles, but I don’t care to. I want to erase them. All of them really, but in this case as many as I possibly can.” Cobb added that he had “officially began planning my attack” to occur in New Jersey during “an important holiday to their race,” and that he had “already acquired 2 of the 4 firearms I plan to use for my attack.” Click here to read more.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The United States Drug Enforcement Agency issued a report of its 2024 National Threat Assessment, which highlights the growing epidemic of fentanyl and methamphetamine in the United States.

“The shift from plant-based drugs, like heroin and cocaine, to synthetic, chemical-based drugs, like fentanyl and methamphetamine, has resulted in the most dangerous and deadly drug crisis the United States has ever faced,” DEA Administrator Anne Milgram said. “At the heart of the synthetic drug crisis are the Sinaloa and Jalisco cartels and their associates, who DEA is tracking world-wide.”

“The suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and money launderers all play a role in the web of deliberate and calculated treachery orchestrated by these cartels. DEA will continue to use all available resources to target these networks and save American lives,” Milgram continued. Click here to read more.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Parents of a fourth grade student say they lost their son due to relentless bullying at school.

Sammy Teusch’s family said he was always on the go and had a bright smile that was hard to miss with an infectious laugh.

Sadly, Sammy’s parents, Sam and Nichole Teusch, said he died by suicide on May 5.

According to the family, the 10-year-old fourth grader was being bullied up until the night he died.

Family members said the bullying started last year and what started as words, eventually turned physical.

Sammy’s parents said they contacted their son’s school 20 times regarding the bullying. Click here to read more.

🚨The Village of Birch Run, Michigan doesn’t record or live stream their public meetings. They’re not legally required to, but I think it would be something good to do for transparency. I talked to the village president who did not want to touch the issue.
