LANSING, Mich - Gov. Gretchen Whitmer says her administration will continue to grow Michigan’s economy, but the state’s record since she took office counters that claim.
On May 30, Whitmer posted on social media a meme of an animated character reviewing a to-do list: “Get to work building an innovative ecosystem, keep growing Michigan’s economy and population, and build a bridge to the future and create a more innovative, prosperous and strong Michigan.”
Whitmer won the governor’s office in 2018 and was reelected in 2022. From 2018-23, Michigan’s population declined by 33,349 people, a 0.3% decrease that is the ninth-worst record in the country. By contrast, the U.S. population increased by 1.9%. Click here to read more.

SACRAMENTO, CALIF - California State Sen. Scott Wiener, an open gay man, declared that gay children belong to LGBT lawmakers. His shocking comments came during a ceremony marking the raising of the gay flag at San Francisco City Hall.
“We are always there for these kids. These are our kids,” Wiener said. “We introduced legislation to ban these forced outing policies as some school boards are starting to adopt…as we fight all the nasty people out there who are trying to harm us and we’re going to beat them and we’re going to win,” he added. WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. - A mother in Indiana says she has been banned from her daughter’s school after she recorded a meeting she had with the principal.
According to Heather Divine, her daughter attends Indian Springs Middle School, and she requested a meeting with the principal.
Divine said the meeting was over a video her daughter recorded that showed a bus driver walking through the aisle of the bus with a belt in his hand.
She said her biggest complaint since her daughter told her what she saw that day was how school leaders have been handling the situation. Click here to read more.

GLEN ROSE, Texas — A 2-year-old visiting a drive-thru safari in Texas with her family got too close of an encounter while trying to feed a giraffe.
Paisley Toten was in the back of a pickup truck feeding animals at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center on Saturday when a giraffe went to grab a bag of food and accidentally got ahold of the child's shirt before briefly lifting her into the air, KWTX reported. We stopped to feed the giraffes and I turned around to look out the back window, and I saw the giraffe kind of digging around right there, and then it just grabbed her and I didn’t see her no more,” her father, Jason Toten, told the outlet.
Luckily, her mom was right there to catch her when the giraffe eventually let go.
"My heart stopped, my stomach dropped it scared me," Toten said. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Democrat strategist James Carville raged against the legacy media this week, demanding that they take an even more biased approach when reporting on former President Donald Trump.
Carville made the remarks after New York Times executive editor Joe Kahn said last month that the newspaper wants to be as fair as possible for the upcoming election and that the newspaper does not want to be “a propaganda arm for a single candidate.”
“People say Trump is going to be the Republican nominee and we got to cover it, and Biden’s the Democratic nominee and we cover this. And if there’s something bad about Biden, of course, we’ve got to print it,” Carville said on Thursday. “But if something comes up that is, can’t say good about Trump, but more favorable to him, like the Elie Honigs and the Fareed Zakarias of the world, that’s one way to look at it. We just tell the truth and let the people decide. Or, at times when the country is in great peril or the moral imperative is so significant, you don’t do that.” Click here to read more.
