HOUSTON, TX - Police in Houston have arrested two migrants from Venezuela for the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was lured away from home, then strangled and dumped in a bayou.
One of the suspects crossed the border illegally less than a month before the shocking murder, and was released into the US after claiming he feared for his life if he was sent back to his home country, sources told The Post.
Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, were charged Thursday with capital murder. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sources said Pena Ramos crossed into El Paso, Texas, on May 28. He was released soon after his interaction with border agents.
He told authorities that he planned to live with his cousin in Houston until his court appearance in July, sources said. Click here to read more.

CHICAGO, IL - Several U.S. oil and corn industry lobby groups are suing the Biden Administration over its plans to slash planet-warming tailpipe emissions from cars and trucks. The coalition argues the regulations will cause economic harm.
The EPA finalized new rules for models of semi-trucks, buses and other heavy-duty vehicles released from 2027 to 2032 in a bid to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Dave Loos, Illinois Corn Growers Association director of Biofuels, said another requirement that up to 56% of all car sales be electric between 2030 and 2032 is unrealistic. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Vice President Kamala Harris posted on Tuesday a show of support for “LGBTQI+ children” with a photo posing with a vulgarly-dressed drag performer, sparking outrage.
The performer, named “Symone,” is dressed in what one user described as “stripper heals” and an overtly revealing outfit. “This is for children?” said Libs of TikTok, operated by Chaya Raichik.
“How are children LGBTQI+? Associating sexuality with children is disgusting,” another replied.
“What does wearing a skimpy/sexy pair of shorts have to do with [being] gay?” one user reacted.
Harris recently visited Jacksonville to rally for abortion.
The topic of LGBTQ and “drag” performances became more mainstream in the post-COVID era, with Florida at the forefront of new policies aiming to protect children from sexual performances and content. Click here to read more.

LANSING, Mich - A proposal to reallocate $630 million meant to pay down teacher pension debt to other priorities is on the June 20 House agenda. It is House Bill 5803, sponsored by Rep. Matt Koleszar, D-Plymouth.
A successful petition to move the bill to the House floor would lead to a vote to reallocate the money that had been scheduled to help pay down $29.9 billion in debt to teachers and others in the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System. The bill would still need the Senate’s approval and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s signature.
The change envisioned by the bill would reduce pension fund contributions and increase costs for taxpayers by another $1.4 billion, according to the Reason Foundation. Click here to read more.
