WASHINGTON D.C. - It is July 7, 2024 — well before the conventions, well before what used to be known in my childhood as “the real campaign,” the one that theoretically begins after Labor Day — and every single Republican (or, to be honest, objective political oddsmaker) finds himself playing an idle holiday-weekend parlor game: “How can Trump or the GOP somehow screw this one up?” (Answer: It’s Trump and the GOP, so just like the bullet with your name on it, you’ll probably never see it coming.)
Understand that conservative commentators are profoundly unused to seeing Republicans in a commanding presidential lead unless they were around for the Reagan/Bush years, and we certainly never expected to associate it with Donald Trump of all people. But it’s sinking in. Because right now, every single moderately intelligent person not explicitly paid to claim otherwise believes — even if only in that darkest part of their hearts they examine when ruinously drunk or falling fitfully asleep — that Joe Biden is a dead man walking, in multiple senses of that term. (Ah, the rich metaphorical opportunities our present political moment offers.) Click here to read more.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — The parents of 13-year-old Jayda Woods-Johnson, who was shot and killed Wednesday night at Alderwood mall, say they are 'disgusted' that the suspect in the shooting was allowed to post bail and be released from juvenile detention.
Jayda was at the mall when she was struck by a bullet that police allege was fired by a 16-year-old boy. An altercation broke out between two groups of people, but police said Jayda was not connected to either group.
Hours after the shooting, the suspect's mother turned him into Lynnwood police and he was booked into juvenile detention. KOMO News confirmed the boy was released Thursday after a posting a bail of $500,000. Click here to read more.

WASHINGOTN D.C. - President Joe Biden‘s doctor met with a neurologist who is reportedly a Parkinson’s disease expert at the White House earlier this year, visitor logs show.
The New York Post first published a story on Saturday about the logs as questions swirl about the commander-in-chief’s health following a fumbling debate performance less than two weeks ago.
Online records show Kevin Cannard, whose LinkedIn page shows him as being a “Movement Disorders specialist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center,” met with White House physician Kevin O’Connor at 5 p.m. ET on January 17.
These same logs show the visit taking place in the Residence Clinic with two other people. According to the Post, Walter Reed cardiologist John Atwood is one of the individuals listed as being in the room. The fourth person has not been identified. Click here to read more.

MICHIGAN - There is a lot of fearmongering circulating in mainstream media about the “Avian Influenza”. In parallel to the fearmongering, there has been a large increase in the number of inspections and surveillance. Creating fear would certainly help better maintain control of the food system, wouldn’t it?
On Tuesday, May 28th, our farm co-op was randomly “inspected” (raided), and over $90,000 worth of product was put under “cease and desist” by the state of Michigan, including all raw dairy. As this is an evolving story, I will share what we know to be true thus far.
Nourish Cooperative is a farm cooperative that my sister, Sarah, and I started with a few other first generation regenerative farmers in September 2023. After several years of a steadily increasing demand for our farm fresh products (such as our raw milk, sourdough, and “needle-free” grass fed and/or corn- and soy-free meat), we simply could not keep up with the demand ourselves, which led us to create a “cooperative” (co-op) of several small, local regenerative farms. ROCHESTER, MICH - Monday night was a Rochester Community Schools Board of Education Special meeting. On the agenda was “Board and Superintendent Norms and Expectations” which was moderated by Scott Morrell who is on the Board of Directors at Michigan Association of School Boards.
At the end of an approximately three-hour board meeting which allowed parents to have public comment at the end (only three minutes each), seven things were agreed upon to be norms including being nicer to each other and to stay on topic at board meetings.
A mother of two girls at Delta Kelly, shared a deeply personal story during the board meeting’s public comment period. She revealed that her eight-year-old daughter had asked if she and her younger six-year-old sister might be transgender after being read books like Call Me Max, My Shadow Is Purple, and My Shadow Is Pink.
