LANSING, Mich - New U.S. Department of Energy designations will allow two Michigan agencies to pursue green energy subsidies similar to those that cost Michigan taxpayers tens of millions of dollars in the 2000s.
Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, a former Michigan governor, approved “state energy financing institution” designations in May for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy. The new status allows those agencies to use federal funding for projects that have not met certain federal requirements.
A Mackinac Center energy expert notes that these new funding powers resemble failed efforts that occurred in Michigan during Granholm’s own governorship. Click here to read more.

Whistleblowers assigned to process minors near the border said that children were being placed with people who clearly were not their relatives and when there was evidence of abuse and trafficking.
One whistleblower, assigned to process minors near the border, said that after a group alerted supervisors to the fact that children were being placed with people who clearly were not their relatives and that there was evidence of sadistic abuse, the Biden administration’s DHS Office of Refugee Resettlement took her off the job and retaliated against her, instead of acting on the facts they had uncovered.
