QUINCY TWP., Mich. (WLUC) - A politically motivated incident in Quincy Township has ended in tragedy. A 22-year-old man, identified by the City of Hancock Police Department as the suspect in a series of politically charged acts of vandalism and violence, was found dead.
Over the weekend, the suspect reportedly ran over an 80-year-old man with an ATV and vandalized property, targeting victims who displayed Trump election signs and law enforcement appreciation stickers and flags. In cooperation with the City of Hancock Police Department (HPD), deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to an address on Samson Street in Quincy Township on Monday.
Pictures below were taken from surveillance cameras:

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, Hancock police received a message from an individual at that address who wanted to confess to a crime involving an ATV driver within the last 24 hours and requested authorities “send someone to pick me up.” When responders arrived, they found the man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence, recovering several electronic devices for forensic examination. The four-wheeler used during the incident and the clothing the suspect had been wearing were also found at the home.
The HCSO and HPD confirm there is no further threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing, with further details to be released as they become available.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the City of Hancock Police Department, Houghton City Police, Michigan State Police, Mercy EMS, Houghton County Medical Examiner, and Marquette’s FBI field office.
I have an issue with how the media covered this attack. Look at the below headline from TV6 in Marquette. The TV station did not focus on political violence in their headline:

As a journalist, the headline of this story should have been “Man accused of targeting Trump supporter found dead.” This is an example of how the media is trying to focus certain narratives.
