WASHINGTON D.C. - Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that as president, Kamala Harris will work with Congress to “create a pathway to citizenship.”
Anchor Jake Tapper said, “President Biden charged Vice President Harris with addressing the root causes of mass migration at the border by going to those Central American countries. She’s consistently defended his handling of the border crisis. I don’t need to tell you voters overwhelmingly disapprove of how the Biden-Harris administration has handled the border by giving the nomination to one of the leaders of the border effort. BARSTOW, CALIF - A semi overturned, resulting in a fuel/oil leak. The truck is also hauling lithium-ion batteries that caught fire.
The fire department says fires involving these types of batteries "can escalate to thermal runaway," and a large amount of water is needed to put the fire out.
Heavy equipment has been requested because of the weight of the cargo, and California Highway Patrol has closed the freeway between Afton Canyon and Basin roads.
"Public safety is of the utmost importance, and keeping the area clear allows emergency responders to manage the situation effectively and prevent potential harm," the fire department said. Click here to read more.
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (WPTV) - It was a night full of laughter and tears as hundreds of loved ones wore green to celebrate the life of Denali Smith.
The 20-year-old college football player died on Tuesday after collapsing during a workout.
Several in the community are left with heavy hearts since Smith’s death.
Many of them spent Thursday evening remembering him.
“He was a true leader, he had a heart of gold, and never had a bad day,” Latoya Mills, his mother, said. “He was the definition of positive.”
Mills said her son was practicing at Wellington High School’s football field when he collapsed.
After trying everything they could to save him, Smtih didn’t make it.
His cause of death has not yet been determined, according to the coroner. Click here to read more.
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF - A key Google feature is failing to show results for the attempted assassination of Donald Trump — drawing claims from the former president’s son that Big Tech companies are trying to influence the election.
It has also sparked a Senate investigation.
Google users were surprised to discover that the search engine’s “Autocomplete” was apparently omitting suggested results related to the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.
The anomaly quickly caught the attention of social media users, including a Texas congressman and Donald Trump Jr., who began sharing screenshots of their own examples showing Google search suggestions coming up empty for queries about the deadly Pennsylvania rally shooting.
There’s no mention of Trump even when the entire search term “the assassination attempt of” is typed into the Google homepage search bar. Click here to read more.
MONROE COUNTY, NC - In North Carolina, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a child was wandering alone on the road on July 7th.
Dispatching an officer to the Waxhaw Indian Trail Road, the child was located and secured, but being autistic and non-verbal, the officer had no idea where the boy had wandered away from.
Being that the responder was a K-9 Unit, and was working alongside his trusty 1-year-old bloodhound Remi, Deputy B. Belk utilized the dog’s incredible sense of smell to “reverse” the normal scent tracking process to find the boy’s home.
“Normally, [scent dogs] track from where a person left to try to find where that person is currently. This time we were doing it reverse,” said Lieutenant Public Information Officer James Maye to CNN. Click here to read more.
