Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Saturday that social media companies must moderate content on their platforms or else “we lose total control.”

Clinton told CNN host Michael Smerconish that while there have been some steps taken at the state level to regulate social media, she wants to see more done by the federal government to moderate content.

“We can look at the state of California, the state of New York, I think some other states have also taken action,” Clinton said.

“But we need national action, and sadly, our Congress has been dysfunctional when it comes to addressing these threats to our children,” she added.

Clinton said she believes the issue should be “at the top of every legislative political agenda” and called for the repealing of Section 230 of the Communications Act. Click here to read more.

BOSTON, MASS - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Removal Operations officers (ERO) assigned to the Boston area apprehended a Salvadoran migrant unlawfully present in the United States who was wanted in his home country for crimes against humanity. Officers arrested the 50-year-old fugitive in Tisbury on September 17, according to ICE officials. The migrant, who is currently detained and awaiting removal, has a lengthy immigration history within the United States.

ERO Boston Acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde described the crimes the unnamed migrant is accused of committing as “extremely serious and disturbing” saying, “He attempted to hide out in Massachusetts and escape the law in his home country. He posed a substantial threat to the residents of Martha’s Vineyard.”

The suspect’s long history with immigration authorities began when U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended the Salvadoran fugitive on November 27, 1994, after he unlawfully entered the United States near Harlingen, Texas. He was issued a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge but was released from custody. Click here to read more.

EL PASO, Texas – Residents of a southeast Juarez neighborhood are demanding the government call off plans to build a migrant shelter near their children’s schools.

The residents of Praderas del Sol on Wednesday took cardboard signs to the construction zone and placed themselves in front of heavy machines grading the soil, momentarily halting construction.

“We are here to stop the construction of this shelter for migrants. It is something we don’t need,” said Beatriz Paredes, whose children attend the nearby elementary and middle schools. “We will be affected, and the children will be affected. A lot of children walk (to school) by themselves. We are not saying they (the migrants) are bad, but we don’t know what habits they have.”

The facility under construction is one of five multipurpose centers Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF), a family services agency, is building throughout Juarez to shelter single women, moms with their children fleeing domestic violence, and migrants passing through the city. Former president Donald Trump took a moment of silence at his Butler, Pennsylvania, rally on Saturday to honor a retired fire chief who died at a rally in the same venue 12 weeks prior.

Corey Comperatore attended Trump’s Butler rally on July 13 and died shielding his family as an assassin located on a nearby rooftop attempted to kill the former president. Trump returned to Butler on Saturday to complete the rally that ended in tragedy 12 weeks before.

At 6:11 p.m. on Saturday, exactly 12 weeks from the assassin’s first shots, Trump held a moment of silence for Comperatore, who’s uniform covered an empty seat at the rally in his honor. The touching moment featured a performance of “Ave Maria” to honor Comperatore, who attended services at Cabot Methodist Church in Cabot, Pennsylvania.

Trump went on to describe Comperatore’s legacy as “immortal.”

Comperatore was “a protector who put his life on the line for others and he loved doing it, and when the sound of gunshots pierced the air on that July evening, Corey leapt into the fire one more time. In his last seconds on this earth, he threw himself on the top of his wife and daughters. He didn’t want them hurt,” Trump said. “Every father and husband in America hopes that, if the time came, we would have what Corey had: tremendous courage, tremendous guts.” Click here to read more.

LAWTON, Okla. (Gray News) - A man in Oklahoma says he has recorded evidence of a Bigfoot but some online believe it’s a hoax.

The man, identified as Emmanuel Alfaro, posted the 10-second video to TikTok under the handle e_man580.

In the video, Alfaro appears to come across an apparent “Bigfoot” sitting in the forest. The video goes blurry as the creature turns to look at Alfaro, who takes off running.

Alfaro says in the caption of the video that he was doing some sightseeing at the Parallel Forest, a wildlife refuge in Lawton, Oklahoma when he spotted something in the distance.

“Scariest moment of my life, and I really think I caught a (expletive) Bigfoot on camera in Parallel Forest,” the caption reads.

The authenticity of the video has been questioned, with many in the comments noting that it looks like a Halloween costume. Some even mention a specific costume: the Jack Links Adult Sasquatch costume. Click here to watch video.

Taylor, Michigan School Superintendent Bans Political Displays in Classrooms follow pushback from parents. Decision follows national debates ove

TAYLOR, Mich. - Taylor School District’s superintendent Mike Wegher announced a ban on classroom displays considered politically controversial after a photo surfaced of a local classroom decorated with a Black Lives Matter flag, a “Science is Real” banner, and a Taylor Swift poster.

The image sparked backlash in the community, with some parents arguing the displays promoted political messages. Superintendent Mark Maloney said the new policy will prohibit all political symbols, including Black Lives Matter, “Blue Lives Matter,” and “Don’t Tread on Me” flags.

“This policy applies across the board,” Maloney said. “Whether it’s BLM, Blue Lives Matter, or Don’t Tread on Me, we’re not allowing any of it. Our classrooms should remain focused on education, not political debate.” He noted that items tied directly to classroom material would still be permitted but acknowledged it could take time for staff to adjust.

The move places Taylor among a growing number of ...

Charlie Kirk Shooting Suspect Lived With Transgender Partner Who Is Cooperating With FBI
Investigators say Tyler Robinson’s partner is providing evidence as authorities probe bullet casings engraved with political messages.

OREM, Utah - The man accused of killing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk had been living with a transgender partner who is now cooperating with federal investigators, according to law enforcement sources as first reported by FOX News.

Tyler Robinson, 22, is charged with aggravated murder in the shooting that claimed Kirk’s life during a speaking event this week at Utah Valley University. Authorities say Robinson’s partner, who was transitioning from male to female, has provided communications and other information to the FBI that shed light on Robinson’s actions and state of mind.

Investigators also revealed that bullet casings recovered at the scene bore inscriptions. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said one was marked with the words “Hey fascist! Catch!” Others carried references to internet meme culture, including the phrase “notices, bulges, OwO, what’s this?” as well as lyrics from the anti-fascist song Bella Ciao.

Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck while responding to a question about transgender mass shooters during his “American Comeback” tour. He was rushed into surgery but died hours later.

Robinson, a Utah resident who once attended Utah State University before dropping out, had been working as an electrical apprentice. Family members told reporters he had become increasingly political in recent months and had openly expressed hatred of Kirk before the shooting.

Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization that grew into a powerful force on college campuses and in Republican politics. He was a frequent media commentator and a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump.

The killing has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concern about political violence. Prosecutors and the FBI continue to build their case as new details about Robinson’s personal life and motivations emerge.

What is Discord? The Platform at the Center of the Charlie Kirk Shooter’s Online Activity
The chat app, once designed for gamers, has grown into a massive online community where conversations range from harmless hobbies to political extremism.

In the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk shooting, investigators revealed that the gunman was active on Discord, a platform that may be unfamiliar to many Americans but is widely used among younger generations.

Discord is a free communication app that combines elements of group chats, social media, and online forums. Launched in 2015, it was originally built for gamers who wanted a place to talk while playing online. Over time, it has grown far beyond gaming, with more than 150 million active users worldwide using it for everything from politics and hobbies to education and business.

If you are not yet a paid subscriber, consider becoming one for less than $1 per week. I rely on paid subscribers to keep my independent journalism going.

The platform is organized into "servers," which are essentially online communities. Each server can host multiple text channels for conversations, voice channels for live discussions, and even video hangouts. Some servers are public and open to anyone, while others are private and require invitations.

Part of what makes Discord appealing is also what makes it concerning for law enforcement: its mix of anonymity and community. Users can sign up with little more than a screen name and an email address. Conversations often happen in private servers, making it harder to monitor. While Discord has worked to crack down on illegal content and extremist groups, critics argue it remains a breeding ground for harmful speech, conspiracy theories, and in some cases, coordination of violence..

For most users, Discord is harmless—a place to connect with friends, talk about music, play games, or share interests. But as investigators are finding in the Kirk case, it can also be a space where anger festers unchecked and dangerous plans are quietly discussed.

As this investigation continues, the role of Discord will likely face new scrutiny, raising fresh questions about the balance between online free speech, privacy, and public safety.

Family of Suspect Says He Expressed Hatred for Charlie Kirk Before Shooting; New Details Emerge on Discord Messages and Etched Cartridges
New details surface about the suspect, the weapon, and what investigators found

According to a family member, Tyler Robinson had recently become deeply political and, during a dinner before the murder, specifically voiced his hatred of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Relatives also say investigators uncovered Discord messages from a user named “Tyler” describing where a rifle would be picked up, noting it was wrapped in a towel. Additional messages reportedly mentioned a scope and changing outfits.

Family members claim several unfired cartridges carried disturbing inscriptions, including one that read “Hate,” another stating “If you read this, you are gay, LAMO,” and a third with additional markings. Robinson’s family told authorities they recognized him in photos circulated by investigators and turned him in. He was found several hours south of the crime scene, near the Utah-Arizona-Nevada border. President Donald Trump has said the death penalty is under consideration, while Utah Governor Spencer Cox described one bullet casing as bearing a symbol often associated with extremist groups.

Background of the Shooting

Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent conservative commentator, was killed on September 10, 2025, during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk had just begun his signature “Prove Me Wrong” debate format when a single shot struck him in the neck.

Investigators say the shot was fired from a nearby rooftop with a high-powered bolt-action rifle. Surveillance footage released by the FBI showed a man in dark clothing fleeing the scene. Forensic investigators recovered the suspected weapon along with shoe prints and imprints on the rooftop.

Authorities later confirmed the suspect was 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson. According to the Associated Press, someone close to Robinson recognized him from images shared by the FBI and alerted law enforcement, leading to his arrest. The Daily Mail reported that Robinson’s father, a longtime sheriff’s deputy, helped secure his son before police took him into custody.

The below post is from Robinson’s mom’s Facebook page

Ongoing Investigation

The FBI has described the shooting as a targeted political assassination. President Trump and Governor Cox have both condemned the killing, promising accountability and transparency. Questions remain about Robinson’s motive, the extent of his planning, and whether anyone else assisted him.

Authorities have not yet confirmed details about the alleged Discord messages or cartridge inscriptions. As the investigation continues, prosecutors will decide how to proceed in a case that has already shocked the nation and drawn widespread attention to online radicalization and political violence.

This is video of Robinson with the voice of his mother.
