HARRISBURG, PA - The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is ordering Boards of Elections throughout the state to follow its previous rulings and not count “mail-in and absentee ballots that fail to comply” with the state election code.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court issued its ruling on Monday, as elections board officials in Bucks County, in particular, have defied Pennsylvania Supreme Court precedent and moved to count ballots that the court has determined cannot be counted.

WASHINGTON D.C. - South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace is following up her Capitol Hill bathroom legislation with yet another bill protecting women’s spaces — this time, banning men who identify as transgender women from using women’s facilities on any federal property.

Mace’s bill, the “Protecting Women’s Private Spaces Act,” was obtained exclusively on Wednesday morning by The Daily Wire. It will “prohibit individuals from accessing or using single-sex facilities on federal property other than those corresponding to their biological sex.” It forbids anyone from accessing facilities on federal property that do not correspond with their biological sex, and it provides precise definitions of what it means to be female or male.

Mace sparked a backlash this week when she introduced a bill banning trans-identifying men from women’s bathrooms or facilities on Capitol Hill. The resolution specifically states that “allowing biological males into single-sex facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women, jeopardizes the safety and dignity of members, officers, and employees of the House who are female.” Click here to read more.

LANSING, Mich - A Democratic plan to end cash bail in Michigan is so extreme that even Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel, a former civil rights attorney, opposes it.

The House Criminal Justice Committee is considering House Bills 4655, 4656, 4658, 4659, 4660 and 4661. The measures were introduced in May 2023 and have new life as Democrats move to push through progressive bills before they lose their trifecta control of state government next year.

If signed into law, the measures would mandate judges to release suspects charged with “low-level” crimes, regardless of the defendant’s background. Judges could not consider a suspect’s criminal history, prior failures to appear in court, the circumstances of their arrest or the potential danger to the community.

“This represents a dangerous shift in how we handle public safety,” state Rep. Graham Filler, R-Duplain Township, said in a release. “The people of Michigan deserve a criminal justice system that prioritizes their safety. These bills would force judges to let certain offenders walk free without bail, even if they pose a clear threat to public safety.” Click here to read more.

LANSING, Mich - Ever wonder what happens to your hard-earned tax dollars? If so, you might want to pour yourself a stiff drink before reading further.

In a recent Ingham County Board of Commissioners meeting, the county’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, its Equal Opportunity Committee, and its Women’s Commission proposed a new expenditure: free menstrual products in all public restrooms, including men’s facilities.

I would be shocked to find a single man in the state who is banging on their government representatives’ doors demanding access to free tampons. But Ingham County’s DEI racket wants to give them tampons anyway—not because men need them, but because it would be discriminatory to assume otherwise. Don’t you know there are men who aren’t actually men!

We used to call those people women, but now they’re just “menstruating individuals,” according to the Ingham County proposal.

The county estimates the proposal will cost up to $32,000. Of course, that number could—and probably will—go up with time, as the proposal itself acknowledges. Ongoing costs will be “determined and adjusted based on utilization,” it says. Click here to read more.

SAGINAW, Mich - A deer crashed through the front window of a Saginaw furniture store, and police had to help lead the deer out.

The incident happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. at the Gardner White Furniture Store on Tittabawassee Rd.

The Saginaw County Sheriff's Office said the deer was trapped inside the store for about 15 minutes.

You can see body cam footage of Deputy Cameron Helwer and Deputy Evan Johnson working to get the deer, which appeared to be injured, out of the building:

The sheriff's office told WEYI that the deer was let loose and not followed. Click here to watch video.

Michigan House Bill 5711, which would roll back the state’s clean energy mandates for utilities, has cleared the House Energy Committee and is headed to the full House for a vote. If approved there, it would move to the Senate for consideration.

🚨The Village of Birch Run, Michigan doesn’t record or live stream their public meetings. They’re not legally required to, but I think it would be something good to do for transparency. I talked to the village president who did not want to touch the issue.
