WASHINGTON D.C. - Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines said the NFL was wrong to allow the Washington Commanders to dump its previous name, the Redskins, in what he calls a “case of woke gone wrong.”
Appearing on Fox News’ “s “America Reports,” Sen. Daines said that the Commanders should reverse course and return their former name to the team.
The man credited with the creation of the original logo, Blackie Wetzel, says he based his image on John Two Guns White Calf in 1971. The surviving family of John Two Guns White Calf also back the call to return the Redskins name and logo to the NFL.
“(Don Wetzel) had a vision to use the proud symbol to benefit his people,” Daines told committee members on Tuesday, according to the Daily Montanan. “This morning, I spoke to his son, Ryan Wetzel, about the ongoing negotiations and the progress that has been made.” Click here to read more.
COLORADO SPRINGS, COL - The FBI referred Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade for prosecution for making false statements related to a hate crime hoax intended to boost his candidacy, but the Department of Justice refused to pursue it for racial and political reasons, an FBI official told The Daily Wire.
On Nov. 12 the Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Colorado announced that three of Mobolade’s supporters had been charged with writing the n-word on one of his campaign signs, erecting a burning cross in front of it, and sending video of the spectacle to the news media to turn out the black vote for Mobolade, an African immigrant. Mobolade, a left-wing candidate, went on to defeat a white Republican in a closely fought election in the conservative-leaning city.
Communications obtained by investigators showed that the now-mayor was in close contact with the lead suspect, Derrick Bernard, before the incident, on the day of, and afterward.
The FBI interviewed Mobolade twice to determine his knowledge of the hoax, and Mobolade explicitly and strenuously denied contact with Bernard, the official said. The official said there were dozens of messages between Bernard and the now-mayor. The official also said Mobolade was scrolling through his phone as a memory aide during the interview, but that “he was literally skipping over text messages,” not realizing that the bureau had already obtained them elsewhere. TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – Parents are outraged after Florida Connections Academy, a taxpayer-funded virtual charter school, held an LGBTQ-themed virtual lesson for students, which the parents said was conducted without parental consent.
In response to a Florida’s Voice investigation, the state Department of Education sent a letter to Florida Connections Academy’s Executive Director Marcie Trombino notifying her that an investigation is underway and that he expects the school to “fully cooperate in this matter.”
The school email, verified by Florida’s Voice, was sent to students and invited those in grades 9-12 grades to “take some time to enjoy the company of LGBTQ+ students and allies from both Connections Academy schools around the country and Pearson Online Academy!”
The optional “Pride Snack and Chat” lesson was held at 12 p.m. on Nov. 15, during which various LGBTQ topics were discussed.
A verified parent, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Florida’s Voice they were not notified about the 12 p.m. event and that the event was not visible on the parent’s public calendar.
The parents said the event was “highly inappropriate – pretty disgusting.”
“Generally speaking it’s appalling that they went behind the parents’ backs and discussed these grotesque ideologies,” the parent told Florida’s Voice. “None of this stuff should be discussed in front of children.” Click here to read more.
LANSING, Mich - A growing body of Democrat legislators in Michigan are packing their social media bags as the House enters its lame duck session — and potentially leaving constituents behind.
A contingent of House Democrats announced plans to leave the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in favor of Bluesky, a Twitter clone spun off from the company under ex-CEO Jack Dorsey’s tenure.
The House Democrat caucus itself announced a move to the site, although not necessarily plans to stop posting on X, which is now owned by anti-censorship, free speech billionaire Elon Musk.
The catch is, the platform Bluesky is, by its own users, heavily censored. The site, whose traffic shot up after a left exodus from X, saw a spike in complaints, censorship requests, and on leftist arrival, a flood of child pornography. Click here to read more.
