NEW YORK, NY - Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming border czar, slammed Democrats on Monday after an illegal alien allegedly murdered a woman on the subway in New York City by lighting her on fire over the weekend.
The 33-year-old illegal alien is a Guatemalan national who previously was deported by the Trump administration just days after he illegally crossed the border in 2018. It is unknown when and where he illegally re-entered the U.S.
“This is another example of an illegal alien killing an American citizen. It’s almost a daily occurrence now,” Homan said. “You know, because a historic number of criminal aliens are walking the streets because of this administration’s policy and sanctuary jurisdictions and lax immigration enforcement.”
Homan said that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has tied the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, preventing them from arresting and removing illegal aliens unless they’ve already been convicted of a serious crime. Click here to read more.
WASHINGTON D.C. - The federal government wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on a number of absurd and bizarre projects, including securing the Paraguayan border, studies on lonely rats and their relationship to cocaine, and “various magical projects.”
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Monday released his annual Festivus report chock-full of grievances after another year of incredibly wasteful spending. This year, he is highlighting over $1 trillion in government waste.
“Who’s to blame for our crushing national debt? Everybody. This year, members of both political parties in Congress voted for massive spending bills, filled with subsidies for underperforming industries, continued military aid to Ukraine, and controversial climate initiatives,” Paul wrote in the report.
“As Congress spends to reward its favored pet projects, the American taxpayers are forced to pay through high prices and crippling interest rates,” he continued before highlighting some of the most egregious examples of waste.
“So, before we get to the Feats of Strength, it’s time for my Airing of (spending) Grievances!” the senator exclaimed. Click here to read more.
WASHINGTON D.C. - Car manufacturer Kia has continued to stonewall following a Daily Caller News Foundation report on the company's ties to a nonprofit that distributes LGBTQ-themed books to children.
The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network's (GLSEN) Rainbow Library — a program that provides teachers with free children's books which propagate transgender ideology — prominently listed Kia as a co-sponsor on its website as recently as Tuesday. However, Kia has since been removed from the Rainbow Library's sponsors page after a spokesperson for the carmaker denied in a statement Tuesday that it sponsored the nonprofit in 2023 or 2024 and subsequently failed to respond to eight follow-up inquiries from the DCNF sent between Tuesday, Dec. 17, and Monday, Dec. 23.
In the several follow-up emails sent to Kia, the DCNF asked if the carmaker had requested GLSEN remove it from the Rainbow Library donors page and if it had falsely stated it was not a 2023-2024 school year Rainbow Library sponsor. Click here to read more.
President Joe Biden commuted the sentences of 37 men who were found guilty of committing brutal murders, including children and families.
The White House announced Monday that Biden would be commuting all but three men on death row, reclassifying their sentences “from execution to life without the possibility of parole.” Some of those listed were sentenced to death after being charged with gory mass murders and raping women before killing them. “Make no mistake: I condemn these murderers, grieve for the victims of their despicable acts, and ache for all the families who have suffered unimaginable and irreparable loss,” a statement from the president reads.
“But guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level. In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted,” the statement continues. Click here to read more.
COSTA MESA, CALIF - United States Postal Service (USPS) supervisor was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing more than 20 checks, totaling over $281,000.
Joivian Tjuana Hayes, a worker at the Costa Mesa Post Office in California, allegedly stole numerous checks, including one for more than $114,000 and allegedly deposited them into her account, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.
Officials said the checks contained forged signatures and surveillance footage allegedly caught the 36-year-old depositing the checks at ATM machines scattered throughout the cities of Costa Mesa, Compton, and Fountain Valley. Hayes allegedly began depositing the checks in July 2024.
The post officer supervisor is also accused of stealing “tens of thousands of dollars in currency and gold coins” from mail that went through the Costa Mesa Post Office, the attorney’s office said.
Federal agents searched Hayes’ Compton residence and her 2023 BMW vehicle Thursday.
