WASHINGTON D.C. - President Donald Trump signed an executive order this week to bar “chemical or surgical mutilation” sex-change procedures for minors.

The executive order, titled “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,” declares that the United States “will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another,” and defines “child” as anyone under the age of 19.

“Across the country today, medical professionals are maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false claim that adults can change a child’s sex through a series of irreversible medical interventions. This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation’s history, and it must end,” the order states. Click here to read more.

 

NEW YORK CITY, NY - Taxpayer-funded nonprofit homeless shelters in New York City are filled with nepotism and conflicts of interest, and their executives take home salaries of up to $1 million, according to a report from the city’s Department of Investigation.

Key facts: The report reviewed 51 nonprofit homeless shelters and found issues with every single one of them.

Five of the nonprofits had executives who earned salaries of more than $700,000, and eight others paid more than $500,000.

CORE Services Group, which is “almost entirely funded by the city,” paid its CEO “more than $1 million” in one year, according to the audit. CORE received $467.5 million from the city between 2017 and 2023.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - The mayor of Michigan’s second-largest city believes “it is a terrible, terrible moment for our country” and promises police “are not in the business of enforcing immigration law.”

Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand recently laid out his views on President Donald Trump’s efforts to crack down on criminal illegal migrants, making it clear he’s not a fan of the 47^th POTUS.

“We have an obligation to speak out on this issue and speak out on it in moral terms, and to do everything in our power to respect, honor and support the members of our community who have built their lives here,” LaGrand said at Tuesday’s city commission meeting.

“But we also have to not give false hope,” he said. “So the danger of holding out some media term like sanctuary cities is people may think that somehow that gives them protection they don’t have.” Click here to read more.

 

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Ormond Beach has become the latest city in Central Florida to stop adding fluoride to its drinking water after a vote by the Ormond Beach City Commission Tuesday.

The move follows guidance from Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, who advised that water fluoridation is no longer necessary and recommended against it, citing concerns over the potential neuropsychiatric risks linked to fluoride exposure.

With the vote, Ormond Beach joins a growing number of communities reconsidering water fluoridation, while still ensuring that residents receive clean, safe, and high-quality water.

The city’s decision also reflects a shift toward giving individuals more control over their personal choices regarding fluoride use.

City staff have already begun the process of discontinuing fluoridation, according to a Facebook post. Despite the change, officials emphasized that water quality standards will remain high, and the move is aimed at giving residents more options in their health decisions. Click here to read more.

 

NORWICH, Conn. (Gray News) – A man was arrested in Connecticut over the weekend on DUI charges and reckless driving after troopers said they caught him speeding at over 130 mph.

When asked why he was speeding so fast, troopers said the driver, identified as 28-year-old Logan Mirmozaffari, said he wanted to get home to see his cat.

A news release from Connecticut State Police said troopers clocked Mirmozaffari driving over 130 mph on Interstate 395 in Norwich around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

A trooper caught up with the Kia sedan and pulled the vehicle over. Troopers said Mirmozaffari complied and pulled over on the right shoulder. Click here to read more.

EAST LANSING, Mich - Bridge Michigan reported a Michigan State University webinar on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) was canceled just one day after newly elected President Donald Trump signed an executive order ending DEI initiatives in federal contracting and spending.

The webinar, originally scheduled for Tuesday and titled “The Future of DEI Policy at MSU,” was called off on Thursday. While organizers hope to reschedule the event, a new date has not been announced.

According to organizers, the delay comes as university employees slated to speak at the event work to understand the implications of a series of executive orders from the new administration. These orders have included threats to public universities that continue pursuing DEI initiatives.

As MSU canceled the event they sent an email out to students and staff saying:

“Last week, the president signed a series of orders that will impact the well-being of colleagues, students, and community partners. While these proposed shifts may cause uncertainty and concern, The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Partnerships wants to provide you with a list of resources that may help in your understanding of these orders as well as additional resources.”

Bridge reporting, Dan Hurley, executive director of the Michigan Association of State Universities advocacy group said he’s sure that “conversations are already underway” at the state’s public universities about how to “stay true to their missions while remaining in compliance with federal law.

“Universities coast to coast are analyzing the executive orders and reviewing current policies,” Hurley said.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a directive for state department and agency heads to review and ensure compliance with executive orders issued by former President Donald Trump, focusing on policies related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the electric vehicle (EV) mandate, and gender classification. The directive requires consultation with the Department of Attorney General to ensure adherence to federal and state laws and court rulings, particularly regarding federal funding, which accounts for nearly $34 billion of Michigan's $83 billion 2025 fiscal year budget, including $27 billion allocated to Medicaid through the Department of Health and Human Services.

A Lenawee County Democrat who posted an unhinged rant denying the 2024 election results and labeling immigration officials as “Nazi collaborators” is doubling down.

Lenawee County Democratic Party Chairman Bill Swift called in to Talk Back Radio with Doug Spade and Mike Clement on Saturday to discuss the post, which was deleted from the party’s Facebook page shortly after it was posted last week.

Swift on Saturday also called for the death penalty for the president’s supporters.

Swift alleged the party removed the post over concerns supporters of President Donald Trump “might do violence to people in our community,” but made it clear “we as a party and I as an individual absolutely 100% support the statements that we made.”

He described the post as “outlining a very rational argument” about Trump’s inauguration and the president’s immediate move to crack down on illegal immigration.

Swift alleged Trump-supporter and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, “performed two Hitler salutes, two Nazi salutes” during the Jan. 20 inauguration.

President Donald Trump is reportedly set to reinstate service members discharged from the military under the Biden administration’s COVID vaccine mandate.

Fox News reported Monday morning that Trump plans to sign an executive order allowing those pushed out the door to return to the military at their previous rank with back pay and benefits. Under President Joe Biden, more than 8,000 service members were booted because they chose not to get the COVID jab.

“The Executive Order directs the Secretary of Defense to reinstate all members of the military (active and reserve) who were discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine and who request to be reinstated,” a White House fact sheet obtained by Fox News says.

“From 2021 to 2023, the Biden Administration and former Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin discharged over 8,000 troops solely due to their COVID-19 vaccination status,” it adds. “After the vaccine mandate was repealed in 2023, only 43 of the more than the 8,000 troops dismissed elected to return to service under the Biden Administration and Secretary Austin.” Click here to read more.

What you don't see is the flood of reports—tens of thousands every day—that banks and other financial institutions file with the government, logging what Americans are doing with their money.

Banks may look like private businesses on the outside, but they have long been deputized on the inside as undercover agents for federal law enforcement.

Finance is among the most private aspects of our lives—we cover the keypad at ATMs, shred financial statements, and use multifactor authentication for online accounts. Yet what we really have is the illusion of financial privacy. Our information might be shielded from much of the general public, but not from the government.

The problem stems from a series of laws now known as the "Bank Secrecy Act regime." Beginning in 1970, the Bank Secrecy Act made two major changes to the financial system. First, the law requires banks to maintain records on customers "where such records have a high degree of usefulness in criminal, tax, or regulatory investigations or proceedings." WASHINGTON D.C. - Upon Joe Biden’s exit from the White House, he threw in a series of questionable pardons and commutations including one that commuted the sentence of a “drug lord who murdered an eight-year old boy and his mother.” According to RedState, Adrian Peeler, who is said to have murdered the child and his mother to stop them from testifying, was among those whose sentences were commuted at the ACLU’s request to pardon “non-violent drug offenders.” Peeler is reportedly set to be released in July.

Biden said in a statement upon the release of 2,500 people convicted of nonviolent drug offenses, that pardoning them is “an important step toward righting historic wrongs, correcting sentencing disparities, and providing deserving individuals the opportunity to return to their families and communities after spending far too much time behind bars,” according to the AP. LOS ANGELES — When Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass gave pay raises to the city’s rank-and-file police officers last year, she sold it as a sensible investment toward regrowing the LAPD to the 9,500-member force it was before her election in 2022.

In the months since, Bass and leaders in the Los Angeles Police Department have continued to project optimism about reaching that goal.

Behind the scenes, though, officials are starting to confront the reality that the LAPD buildup won’t happen anytime soon — while acknowledging that the country’s third-largest police department may even continue to shrink.

New projections included in the department’s fiscal year 2026 budget proposal show that between recruiting shortfalls and attrition, leaders expect to lose more than 150 cops, leaving a force of about 8,620 by June 30, 2026 . That would mark the lowest deployment in roughly 30 years, records show.

During public appearances, Bass, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell and other top leaders are still making the case that the department needs to grow, arguing more manpower is required to maintain public safety.
