WASHINGTON D.C. - On May 7, 2025, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, head of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced a complete halt to operations at the U.S. Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) Integrated Research Facility at Fort Detrick, Maryland. That following a shocking alleged act of sabotage.
Bhattacharya revealed the decision in a detailed thread on his X account (@NIHDirector_Jay).
He explained that he learned a contractor at the lab deliberately cut a hole in a co-worker’s biocontainment suit during a personal dispute, compromising critical safety protocols.
The incident, reportedly happened in early March but Bhattacharya says he did not learn of it until weeks later.
The Fort Detrick facility is part of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at NIH which was for years run by Dr. Anthony Fauci. SACRAMENTO, CALIF - A career criminal with a long rap sheet involving firearms, he was given a 10-year sentence in 2018 for punching, dragging and severely beating his girlfriend with a belt. In prison, Martin was found guilty of beating another inmate and engaging in other criminal activity. Nevertheless, he was freed just four years later, thanks to a plea deal that categorized him as a “nonviolent offender” and a California ballot measure that sharply reduced sentences for “good behavior.”
Just two months after his release, Martin and several accomplices, including his brother, were arrested for carrying out the worst mass shooting in Sacramento’s history – leaving six dead and 12 others injured on April 3, 2022. Martin was charged with three counts of murder and illegal possession of a firearm, including a machine gun. SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. - A celebration ahead of graduation has turned into a somber event after a Virginia high school senior was shot and killed.
The deadly shooting was reported Saturday in a Fredericksburg neighborhood during an alleged prank.
“It’s been very emotional, honestly, because we graduate next week,” student Khamoni Keys remarked.
Massaponax High School seniors are heartbroken after their classmate, 18-year-old Michael Bosworth Jr., was shot and killed on Saturday.
One minor at the scene was not hurt, but another teenager who was close friends with Keys was also shot. That victim survived.
