Oklahoma To Require Ideology Test For Incoming Teachers From California And NY To Weed Out Wokeness
Oklahoma will require teachers relocating from California and New York to take a 50-question test aimed at assessing whether they hold leftist political views that might influence their teaching.
Developed by Prager University, the Oklahoma test, according to Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters, will have to be approved by the education board before it is administered. Walters said if applicants do not pass the test, they will not receive a teaching certificate.
“Every teacher that teaches in the state of Oklahoma will have to have a certificate that goes through my office. It has my signature on it. So that those will not move forward until this is done,” he declared. Click here to read more.

Lawmakers demand probe into Meta’s AI policies after Reuters exposé
WASHINGTON — Meta Platforms is facing growing scrutiny from Capitol Hill after a Reuters investigation revealed company guidelines that allowed AI chatbots to engage in disturbing conversations with children.
The internal documents, obtained by Reuters, showed that Meta’s standards once permitted bots to participate in “sensual chats” with underage users. In one striking example, the Reuters report shows the guidelines made it “acceptable for a bot to tell a shirtless eight-year-old that ‘every inch of you is a masterpiece – a treasure I cherish deeply.’”
Jeff Horwitz, the Reuters journalist who broke the story, told Fox News that Meta’s policy, legal, engineering, and even its chief ethics officer “had to put their names on as saying this is ok for these conversations to happen like this.” Click here to read more.

Police officer arrested by ICE agrees to voluntarily leave the US
OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine (AP) — A Maine police officer arrested by immigration authorities has agreed to voluntarily leave the country, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Monday.
ICE arrested Old Orchard Beach Police Department reserve Officer Jon Luke Evans, of Jamaica, on July 25, as part of the agency’s effort to steup up immigration enforcement. Officials with the town and police department have said federal authorities previously told them Evans was legally authorized to work in the U.S.
An ICE representative reached by telephone told The Associated Press on Monday that a judge has granted voluntary departure for Evans and that he could leave as soon as that day. The representative did not provide other details about Evans’ case. Click here to read more.

AG Nessel targets Michigan oil companies while her office drives 77 gas-fueled vehicles
When Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel sues Michigan oil companies, she could target many different entities, from oil pipeline operators to refineries to gas stations.
She announced her intention in May 2024 to sue by using third-party attorneys, Michigan Capitol Confidential reported. Lawsuits could target the largest gas station companies such as Speedway, Phillips 66, Shell, Marathon or Exxon-Mobil.
Ann Arbor has 38 registered gas stations, while Grand Rapids has 83 and Detroit has 348, per information the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development released in response to an open records request.

Jocelyn Benson suffers meltdown over Trump’s promise to end mail-in ballots
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson suffered a meltdown over President Donald Trump’s plans to end mail-in voting following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump do not dictate how our democracy works. The people do. And in Michigan, millions of citizens vote by mail – legally, safely, securely – in our elections,” Benson, who is running her own election for governor in 2026, posted to X on Monday.
Trump told Fox News host Bret Baier on Friday “one of the most interesting things” from his meeting with Putin last week centered on mail-in ballots.
“He said: ‘Your election was rigged because you have mail in voting. … It’s impossible to have mail in voting and have honest elections,’” Trump said. Click here to read more.
