District health department brews up food license dispute with youth group
The Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department told a youth group meeting in a private building that it violated food licensing rules by offering hot chocolate and coffee without a license.
Language on the website of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development appears to challenge the district’s claim.
Micah and Kya Cramer, Apollos Properties LLC and the family that controls the LLC filed a lawsuit on August 10 in federal district court against Leland Township and 21 local officials. The complaint alleges that the township and local officials violated the plaintiff’s federal and state constitutional rights and various laws. One of the last people to speak with Charlie Kirk reflects on the day he was killed
SALT LAKE CITY — Nearly a year after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, one of the last people to speak with him at the event says the experience changed the way he thinks about debate, politics and religion.
Henry Dells was the first person chosen to ask Kirk a question during the September 10, 2025, “Prove Me Wrong” event on the UVU campus.
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was speaking to a crowd of thousands when he was shot and killed.
Dells, who was living in Utah at the time but was not a UVU student, said he had wanted the chance to challenge Kirk.
“I loved Charlie. He was really cool. I didn’t agree with him on everything, but I loved his debate tactic,” Dells said. Click here to read more.

A Utah developer building what it says will be the world’s largest data center campus is betting on an old scientific principle to tackle one of artificial intelligence’s most pressing problems: water.
Creekstone Energy announced Wednesday that it is seeking to patent GIGAWATER, a technology the company says can capture water vapor produced by natural gas generation and turn it into usable water, according to the Utah News Dispatch.
The company has dubbed the novel water stewardship effort “Project Oasis.” Creekstone is developing Delta Gigasite in Millard County, Utah, where it plans more than 10 gigawatts of electrical capacity at full buildout, more than twice the electricity currently consumed by the entire state of Utah, per the Dispatch. Michigan Democrat Warns Against Abdul El-Sayed: Socialist Politicians Are ‘More Racist than KKK’
A Michigan Democrat state lawmaker is warning voters not to support U.S. candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed and said socialist politicians take black voters for granted.
“It doesn’t change, it’s just different slave owners,” Democratic Michigan state Rep. Karen Whitsett told Fox News Digital, referring to Democrat Party leaders who treat black voters as a monolith who should only support left-wing candidates.
She also accused El-Sayed of not supporting the best interests of black people in Michigan and said the far-left rising socialist wing of the Democrat Party is “more racist than the KKK.”
She further accused prominent black activists, including Al Sharpton and Detroit pastor Horace Sheffield III — who has worked with El-Sayed’s campaign — of “keep[ing] the knee on [black voters’] neck.” Whitsett said the black community is “waking up” and realizing the influence their vote has.
