Universities Like U-M Take In Billions From Foreign Countries, But Won’t Say How Much.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The University of Michigan has come under the spotlight for its involvement with Chinese foreign nationals, whether it be students or visiting scholars.
Gifts and contracts.
Earlier this year, the Americans For Public Trust nonprofit reported that U.S. colleges such as the University of Michigan had received nearly $60 billion in money over the past decades in gifts and contracts from foreign countries, many of which are “long-standing adversaries and enemies of the U.S.”
Americans For Public Trust stated that there were many ways foreign money can be funneled to American universities but said the “overwhelming majority” was through gifts or contracts.
On April 28, the Washington Free Beacon reported that the University of Michigan was one of 11 universities they filed an open records request with to get the information on foreign donors. The Washington Free Beacon reported U-M’s response was that it would take months of searching and more than $1,500 in fees to provide an answer. Click here to read more.

Meet the Companies Helping to Trans Kids and Hide It from Parents
It’s been a while since Americans could actually sit back and enjoy June. Now, instead of bumping into rainbows in every aisle and choking on the colored logos of every conceivable brand, there’s some freedom from the suffocating fumes of Pride Month.
In these last two years, the march to pull companies back to neutral has outperformed everyone’s expectations. But in this process of rolling back decades of corporate wokeism, one thing is clear: this isn’t over. No matter how much success conservatives have, not everyone will go quietly. When it comes to LGBTQ activisim, some businesses are playing for keeps.
While most of this week’s coverage seems to be about who isn’t joining the parade, there’s a proud contingent of CEOs who have no intentions of backing off their radicalism. To those who would shrug and say, “It’s just a few splashy logos. What’s the big deal?” the reality is much more sinister. This isn’t about slapping a few Progress flags outside headquarters or queering the sesame street puppets. Click here to read more.

Doctors trialling 'poo pills' to flush out dangerous superbugs.
The stool samples come from healthy donors and are packed with good bacteria.
Early data suggests superbugs can be flushed out of the dark murky depths of the bowel and replaced with a mix of healthy gut bacteria.
It is a new approach to tackling infections that resist antibiotics, which are thought to kill a million people each year.
The focus is on the bowels which are "the biggest reservoir of antibiotic resistance in humans" says Dr Blair Merrick, who has been testing the pills at Guys and St Thomas' hospitals.
Drug-resistant superbugs can escape their intestinal home and cause trouble elsewhere in the body – such as urinary tract or bloodstream infections.
"So there's a lot of interest in 'can you get rid of them from the gut?'," says Dr Merrick. Click here to read more.
