Michigan Supreme Court mulls ban on ICE arrests at state courthouses
Michiganders have 12 more days to weigh in on a rule proposed by the Michigan Supreme Court that would ban federal immigration agents from making civil arrests at state courts.
The rule, proposed in November, “would prohibit the civil arrest of a person while attending a court proceeding or having legal business in the courthouse,” according to the court website.
The order notes “this subrule does not apply to arrests made pursuant to a valid warrant that a judge has authorized.”
It also would not apply to federal immigration courts that are outside of the state’s jurisdiction.
Christine Sauve, spokeswoman for the Michigan Immigration Rights Center, told Michigan Public an increasing number of folks are calling in with concerns about Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrests at or near courthouses. Click here to read more.

Erika Kirk Pushes Back on Conspiracies About Husband’s Death: ‘Stop’
Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Outnumbered,” Erika Kirk, the Turning Point USA CEO and widow of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk, addressed online conspiracies around her husband’s murder.
Kirk said, “It reminds me so much of Chapter Six in the book of Nehemiah. He is building a wall, and the townspeople are at the base of that hill saying, ‘Nehemiah,’ calling him all these names, saying all these things, ‘Come on down,’ Every single time, he had the same message four times in a row: ‘I cannot come down. I am busy building.’ That is how I feel.
She continued, “I do not have time to address the noise. My silence does not mean that I am complacent. My silence does not mean that somehow Turning Point USA and all of the handpicked staff that loved my husband and my husband loved them is somehow in on it. We are busy building. And that could be defined as obeying our laws or professing a love for this country, aside from showing gratitude by becoming legal.
And this came up in a variety of context. We had a great number of licenses here in California, 17,000, that were issued to people who were illegally in the United States, and they weren’t even residents of California. Click here to read more.

EXCLUSIVE: How Trump’s Own Appointees Aided Russiagate Plot Against Him
When Obama administration officials manufactured U.S. intelligence tying Donald Trump to Moscow following his stunning 2016 victory, they had no idea Trump’s own political appointees would help them undermine Trump’s presidency – and his chances of reelection in 2020.
RCI’s review of recently declassified documents and exclusive interviews with former Trump officials reveals for the first time how key members of Trump’s cabinet and other appointees during his first term shrouded the previous administration’s machinations and either deliberately or inadvertently misled the public into thinking the fake Russiagate intelligence was real.
Former Special Counsel John Durham, former National Security Adviser John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former CIA Director Gina Haspel dismissed or buried evidence that cast doubt on a foundational document of the Russigate hoax – the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) prepared in the waning days of the Obama administration.
