KISS co-founder and bass player Gene Simmons used a Fourth of July weekend concert to praise the U.S., while urging immigrants to enter the country legally, according to a report.
Speaking during a performance with his solo band at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, Simmons reportedly called the U.S. “the greatest f***ing country in the planet” and said its opportunities attract millions of people from around the world.
Born in Israel, Simmons immigrated to the U.S. as a child with his Holocaust-survivor mother. He told the crowd that he supports legal immigration -- but criticized those who enter the country unlawfully. Click here to read more.

Socialist Congressional Candidate Melat Kiros: We Can’t Tackle White Supremacy Without Reparations
America cannot tackle “white supremacy” without “reparations,” socialist congressional candidate Melat Kiros said during a recent discussion.
Kiros, who unseated 15-term Democrat Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado’s First Congressional District primary, spoke with Walter Rhein and explained that she believes there is a racism that exists as a “product of growing up in a white supremacist society.”
“One of the things that brought me into starting my PhD program was finally coming to the realization that we were never really going to be able to tackle white supremacy in the way that we need to without reparations,” she said, asserting there is “no way to truly heal” and progress without that. Young Washington Gives Gen Z An Aspirational Hero For The Ages
In the wake of celebrating our nation’s founding, it is harder to imagine a better time to reflect on the life of one preeminent Founding Father. Angel Studio’s Young Washington walks audiences through the lesser-known period of George Washington’s life, focusing on his pre-Revolutionary War experiences.
The movie’s message about the value of strength and endurance has clearly resonated with Americans. Young Washington opened domestically to an exceptional $20.8 million, blowing past its $15 million projections, and grossing more than $7.6 million on July 4 alone. The film was produced for just $20 million, meaning it’s on track to be a hit.
In comparison, DC’s summer blockbuster Supergirl also opened this past weekend, but only raked in $37 million. Compared to its $275 million production budget and years of fanbase development, Supergirl is not the smashing success Warner Bros was hoping for. Click here to read more.

Half of Americans struggle to afford groceries and gas, exclusive poll finds
Ninety-five per cent of Americans believe the US is suffering an affordability crisis, as many report trouble with the rising cost of groceries and gas, according to an exclusive new poll conducted for the Guardian.
The survey, conducted by Harris Poll, paints a bleak picture of how people feel about the US economy amid the war in Iran and ahead of the key midterm elections this fall.
Despite stable employment and record-high stock markets, more Americans believe the overall economy is getting worse (57%) than in February (46%), when the poll was last conducted and before the war in the Middle East sent gas prices soaring. Fewer people today also believe the economy is getting better (16%, compared with 28% in February) and more say their financial security has gotten worse. Click here to read more.

Surveillance State Has Arrived, And Masked Heroes Are Already Fighting Back
Solar-powered black boxes have been installed in communities across the U.S. under the guise of “public safety.” Yet, in true American fashion, resistance is rising against what can only be described as the arrival of a full-fledged surveillance state.
Flock Safety cameras, the most prominent brand in this AI surveillance space, are automated license plate readers (ALPRs) that capture high-resolution images of every passing vehicle. Flock and similar systems now operate in thousands of communities, with over 110,000 cameras mapped nationwide, according to DeFlock, an open-source project mapping license plate readers.
Thanks to recent tech upgrades like Leonardo’s SignalTrace, these cameras do more than just read license plates and record your vehicle’s unique details; they also track the electronic signatures of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID, and other wireless signals from devices inside or near your vehicle.
