MICHIGAN PORK ALERT

🚨PORK ALERT🚨Mackinac County, Michigan —one of Michigan’s smaller counties—received the highest per capita pork funding, at a staggering $725 per person. Meanwhile, Livingston County got just 62 cents per person. Even some of Michigan’s largest counties, like Oakland ($37 per capita) and Washtenaw ($76 per capita), received well below the average.

Even more shocking, 40 counties got nothing at all. That’s right—taxpayers in those areas helped fund this spending spree but saw none of the benefits. From Mackinac Center.

In a significant policy shift, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that could withdraw federal funding from schools and universities mandating COVID-19 vaccinations. This move aligns with the administration's stance against vaccine mandates, emphasizing individual choice over institutional requirements. The order specifically targets COVID-19 vaccines, excluding other immunizations like those for measles and polio. Critics argue that this action may undermine public health efforts and compromise student safety.

Concurrently, the Trump administration is undergoing notable changes in its Cabinet composition. Notably, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent vaccine skeptic, has been nominated as Secretary of Health and Human Services. This appointment has raised concerns due to Kennedy's history of questioning vaccine safety, potentially influencing public health policies and vaccine programs. Despite controversies, the GOP-majority Senate is expected to confirm most of Trump's nominees. Click here to read more.

NEW YORK, NY - The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) sued the Trump administration Wednesday over the loss of tens of millions in federal funding for its services for illegal migrants.

The Catholic organization claims its loss of millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars is a violation of the Refugee Act of 1980, Fox News reported.

“For decades, the US government has chosen to admit refugees and outsourced its statutory responsibility to provide those refugees with resettlement assistance to non-profit organizations like USCCB,” the lawsuit alleges.

“But now, after refugees have arrived and been placed in USCCB’s care, the government is attempting to pull the rug out from under USCCB’s programs by halting funding,” the suit adds. Click here to read more.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF - About $4.7 trillion in payments from the Treasury Department were missing a code that allowed them to be tracked, according to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project.

DOGE, led by billionaire Elon Musk, announced its discovery on X.

“The Treasury [Account] Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process),” the post said. “In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going.”

Musk also touted the announcement, calling it a “[m]ajor improvement in Treasury payment integrity.” Click here to read more.

ATLANTA, GA - A Georgia woman says her journey to motherhood has left her “emotionally and physically broken,” and now she is suing the company responsible.

Even as a child, Krystena Murray, 38, of Savannah, always told people it was her dream to be a mom. Two years ago, she became pregnant after undergoing in vitro fertilization, a life-changing procedure for people trying to have a child.

She said her joy was taken away within seconds of delivery after discovering that the fertility clinic had made a fateful mistake. She is now suing Coastal Fertility Specialists for negligence.

Murray had turned to Coastal Fertility Specialists to help her get pregnant. She began treatment in early 2023 and became pregnant the second time an embryo was implanted in her uterus. She gave birth in December 2023, but within 15 seconds of the baby boy’s arrival, her life had changed forever.

“He was beautiful and literally the best thing I had ever seen. But it was also immediately apparent that he was African-American,” said Murray, who, along with her sperm donor, is white. Click here to read more.

LANSING, Mich - Michigan school districts including Lansing and Waverly in the capital region are pushing back against President Donald Trump’s executive order allowing immigration officers on school property.

Local district officials have changed or updated policies to affirm “welcoming school” resolutions and implement measures to protect any undocumented students and their families.

The Waverly Community Schools Board of Education on Monday passed a resolution “affirming commitment to a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment for all students regardless of immigration status,” according to The Lansing State Journal.

The resolution specifically states that all students, regardless of their immigration status, have the same rights to an education and privacy. In late January, the district’s superintendent posted on social media that ‘schools should be sanctuaries’ for undocumented students, FOX 47 News reported. Click here to read more.

PHOENIX, AZ - Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent on transgender surgeries and treatments on animals, House Oversight Committee Chairman Eli Crane (R-AZ) confirmed yet again this week.

According to reports, the committee revealed that $241 million in taxpayer dollars were used to study transgender surgeries and treatments on animals. What is perhaps more, former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases chief Anthony Fauci gave the green light to the bulk of these cruel and unusual experiments.

“Insane, right?” Crane said of the report on Tuesday.

The confirmation is welcomed but the news is not new, as taxpayer watchdog White Coat Waste Project (WCW) has continued to bring these realities to light. Testifying at an Oversight hearing earlier this month, Senior Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy at White Coat Waste Project Justin Goodman testified that the $241 million spent on transgender animal testing is merely the “floor” of this so-called research. WASHINGOTN D.C. - In a sweeping legal defeat of the former Biden administration, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ruled that the administration’s student loan forgiveness efforts were unconstitutional. The ruling effectively declares illegal the vast majority of the $188.8 billion in loan forgiveness granted to 5.3 million borrowers.

This decision comes after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling in Biden v. Nebraska, which struck down an earlier $430 billion forgiveness plan. Despite this, the administration continued to push widespread debt cancellation through executive action, a move that legal experts and lawmakers argued was an overreach of executive authority.

The Mackinac Center for Public Policy and Cato Institute, in partnership with the New Civil Liberties Alliance as lead counsel, challenged this latest loan forgiveness attempt in multiple lawsuits. The Center also filed amicus briefs in support of other legal efforts to stop the administration’s actions. Click here to read more.

THOMPSON COVE BEACH, Turks and Caicos Islands - A woman reportedly lost her hands to a shark attack while she was trying to take a selfie with the large creature.

According to The New Zealand Herald, the woman was reportedly a 55-year-old Canadian tourist visiting the Thompson Cove Beach in the Caribbean.

The woman reportedly "attempted to engage" the 6-foot-long shark, at which point the animal attacked her and seriously injured her hands. The outlet reported that the woman needed to have one of her hands amputated below the wrist and her other arm was amputated halfway up her forearm.

Other beachgoers saved the woman from an even worse fate, with her husband scaring off the shark after the attack and strangers gathering around her and using their clothes to slow the bleeding. Click here to read more.

HELENA, Mont. — Legislators heard a bill on Friday that would make Montana the first state to ban the use of mRNA vaccines.

House bill 371, sponsored by State Rep. Greg Kmetz (R-Miles City) and introduced alongside a dozen other Republicans, would ban the use of mRNA vaccinations on humans, and provide for misdemeanors to be issued to violators.

According to Johns Hopkins, gene-based vaccines include those to protect against Covid-19, and vaccine manufacturers are developing mRNA vaccines to protect against other respiratory viruses.

Friday’s hearing on the bill in House Judiciary lasted well over two hours, with proponents arguing these vaccines have caused short term side-effects and could have long-term impacts that are unknown, and that they could shed to others.

“Gene-based vaccines, or mRNA vaccines, are the most destructive and lethal medical products that have ever been used in human history. I am asking you to support this bill banning gene-based vaccines so we can halt continued harm, disability, and death of our citizens,” said Christine Drivdahl-Smith, a family physician in Miles City and volunteer board member of Montana Medical Freedom Alliance. The Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) has been promoting the use of anti-Israel teaching materials that includes phrases such as “Zionist bullies” in workbooks for students.

MTA president Max Page was called to a hearing on Feb. 10 by the Massachusetts Commission on Combating Antisemitism regarding the materials, during which he consistently defended them despite the committee pointing out the blatant anti-Israel bias contained in the documents. A Parents Defending Education (PDE) dispatch first shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation provides the teaching materials promoted by MTA, which PDE called “antisemitic.”

Some of the materials provided to educators included Palestinian “activist” guides and a children’s book that says “a group of bullies called Zionists wanted our land so they stole it by force and hurt many people” and “children like me keep having their homes taken by Zionist bullies.” The documents also encourage children to protest and help “Free Palestine.”

During the hearing, committee members pointed to several social media posts by Page’s staff stating “Free Palestine” just days after Hamas’ deadly Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel. Page defended his staff’s posts to committee members. The MTA president also refused to disclose who compiled the resources meant to teach students about the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. Click here to read more.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A Good Samaritan in New Mexico took down a bank robber last month as the thief tried to run off with more than $2,000 in stolen cash, according to authorities.

Humberto Garcia Rodriguez was sitting in the lobby at a Bank of Montreal (BMO) in Albuquerque, when he witnessed a man walk in and push a woman out of the way to talk to the teller, according to a report by KOB 4.

The man, later identified as John Martin, had just robbed the same bank a month earlier, according to court documents.

Police said Martin mimed a gun at the teller and demanded cash. Meanwhile, Rodriguez decided to take action.

Video footage shows Rodriguez getting behind Martin and tackling him before he could make his getaway. As the scuffle commenced, a total of $2,422 in cash went flying into the air, scattering at the men’s feet. Click here to read more.

JD Vance spoke over the weekend at the Munich security conference on behalf of the United States — the primary topic was Ukraine, for obvious reasons — but instead of discussing the immediate geopolitical matter, he took his time at the rostrum to deliver a harsh message to the European grandees gathered there about the enemy “within.” And he wasn’t subtle in identifying that threat as the overreaction of Europeans to dissident populist parties:

The threat that I worry the most about vis-a-vis Europe is not Russia, it’s not China, it’s not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within. The retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values: values shared with the United States of America.

I was struck that a former European commissioner went on television recently and sounded delighted that the Romanian government had just annulled an entire election. He warned that if things don’t go to plan, the very same thing could happen in Germany too.

Now, these cavalier statements are shocking to American ears. For years we’ve been told that everything we fund and support is in the name of our shared democratic values. Everything from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship is billed as a defense of democracy. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - While U.S. currency has no such denomination, the fake bill in the image also has similar modern money markings and Trump phrases as the counterfeit $100.

Making or using counterfeit money is a serious crime. Earlier this month, a 28-year-old man in Chicago was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for manufacturing about $92,000 in fake $100 bills. Authorities said he tried to use the bills to make purchases at local businesses, recruiting woman and even girls as young as 16 years old to assist with the purchases.

If you do come across a counterfeit bill, contact police or the U.S. Secret Service Omaha field office.

WASHINGTON D.C. - The U.S. Agency for International Development wasn’t just spending your hard-earned tax dollars on transgender operas overseas—USAID also has troubling connections with the leftist pressure groups that infiltrated and advised the Biden administration.

My book, “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government,” exposes the woke activist groups that fed staff into the administrative state and pushed woke policies on the bureaucracy.

As President Donald Trump released information about USAID’s corruption, I started to notice a few familiar names from my research.

The American people should understand just how connected the woke enterprise is to the federal bureaucracy, and USAID provides a powerful example of those ties. Click here to read more.

A Christian advocacy group is praising God for “victory” after successfully working to shut down what they say is a “disturbing exhibit” at a Texas museum.

The Danbury Institute, a nonpartisan association of Evangelical churches based in Dallas, first brought attention to the "Diaries of Home" exhibit by acclaimed photographer Sally Mann at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in late December, when police removed four photographs from the museum over allegations that the exhibit promoted child pornography.

The group shared an update on Feb. 11 announcing that the photos that were seized remain in police custody as the investigation continues as a “direct result of public pressure and God’s faithfulness in answering our prayers.”

“This is a powerful reminder that when Christians stand for truth, we can make a difference,” the statement added.

The group also warned against complacency on the part of Christians engaging with culture, adding that “the normalization of child exploitation in the name of ‘art’ is a growing threat in our culture, and we must remain vigilant. Click here to read more.
