NEWS THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO SEE

LANSING, Mich - The Biden administration promoted its American Rescue Plan in 2021 as “delivering direct relief to the American people, rescuing the American economy, and starting to beat the virus.”

NEW YORK, NY - OpenAI and Microsoft Threat Intelligence shut down accounts linked to five state-affiliated actors, some tied to China and Russia, trying to use AI for malicious reasons, the companies announced Wednesday.

WASHINGTON D.C. - The United States faces a “serious national security threat,” according to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH), who is urging President Biden to declassify all information related to it.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A Florida Senate panel approved legislation Tuesday banning anyone under the age of 21 from working in adult entertainment establishments.

WASHINGTON D.C. - The Republican National Committee has closely aligned itself with former President Donald Trump since he won the GOP nomination in 2016, but electoral results under his leadership have been mixed.

Trump’s pick to be the new RNC co-chair, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, said on Tuesday that the committee’s “only job” is getting Trump elected in November and that she will use “every single penny” from the RNC to do so if elected. With an increasingly Trump-centric RNC, the former president’s slate of endorsements to replace the current leadership would solidify the trend, but the record under this new focus gives five reasons to question the strategy.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Immigration and Customs Enforcement is discussing releasing nearly half of detained migrants to make up for a budget shortfall.

Four ICE and Department of Homeland Security officials told the Washington Post that the agency is currently experiencing its greatest budget shortfall in recent memory, at $700 million. To compensate, ICE officials are circulating an internal memorandum that proposes cutting detention beds from 38,000 to just 22,000.

HOUSTON, TX - NASA released a new image of a globular cluster captured by the Hubble Space Telescope.

The picture includes the thousands of sparkling stars that make up the NGC 2298 globular cluster and was shared by the space agency on Wednesday with a social media post to mark Valentine’s Day.

LANSING, Mich - Ingham County Clerk Barbara Byrum and her husband Brad Delaney, a detective sergeant with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, are alleged in a suit filed in federal court to have used their respective political positions to circumvent a Mason Schools expulsion, Title IX complaint, and a personal protection order against their son.

DETROIT, Mich - Republican James Craig, the former Detroit police chief, is suspending his campaign for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat and weighing running for mayor of Detroit, he told The Detroit News in a Tuesday interview.

NEW YORK, NY - NYC Mayor Eric Adams is stressing that the city is running out of room and that those seeking sanctuary in New York may soon be “sleeping on the streets”.  “Thanks to a “right to shelter” rule enacted in the 1980s, he is also legally required to house everyone.”

TUCSON - A U.S. Border Patrol agent was injured Tuesday during a chase near the Arizona-Mexico border, authorities said.

The agent was struck around 8 a.m. at the State Route 86 immigration checkpoint near Three Points, Arizona, just outside Tucson, U.S. Border Patrol said.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Police remain on the scene of an active barricade situation, where three officers were shot earlier this morning on Hanna Place in Southeast.

The Metropolitan Police Department is responded to a shooting in the 5000 block of Hanna Place. According to police Chief Pamela Smith, police arrived at the residence listed above to serve an arrest warrant for cruelty to animals around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14. Police attempted to gain entry and the suspect fired gunshots.

DENVER, COL - Some say that Valentine’s Day exists solely as an excuse for smiling and romance amid February’s generally awful weather, but today in Denver, there’s a reason for a lot more than smiling—100 reasons to be specific.

An enterprising and artistic Deverite named Xander Phoenix has hidden 100 papier-mâché hearts made of one hundred $1.00 bills all around the Denver metropolitan area.

🚨The Village of Birch Run, Michigan doesn’t record or live stream their public meetings. They’re not legally required to, but I think it would be something good to do for transparency. I talked to the village president who did not want to touch the issue.
