LANSING, MICH - Recent reports show 437 children were harmed in the care of the Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services in 2023, as the department faltered on abuse complaints and background checks.

Two recent reports – one produced by a court appointed third party, and another from the Michigan Office of the Auditor General – paint a concerning picture of how Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration manages the children in its care, and how those who lead DHHS respond to the criticism.

A monitoring report for Dwayne B. v. Whitmer, a case that spawned a 2019 plan to improve DHHS, found the state failed to meet required performance standards in 22 of 28 areas monitored for compliance with the agreement. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - If there’s one indisputable strategic advantage that Democrats possess, it’s that they don’t really have a political party in the traditional sense. They have a cult.

The slogans come down from on high, and overnight, the yard signs go up: “No human is illegal, Black Lives Matter, defund the police,” and so on. They’ll invent quasi-religious explanations for events they don’t understand or don’t want to understand, and then they’ll use the entirety of corporate media and academia to present those explanations as fact. Hurricanes are caused by man-made climate change; therefore we need “environmental justice.” Black people go to prison because of “systemic racism”; therefore we need DEI, and so on. Anyone who dissents is immediately cast out of the collective.

If you want to create a stable, functioning country, this kind of mindless collectivism is obviously counterproductive. But Democrats’ goal isn’t to create a stable or functioning country. Their goal is to mobilize and to win. Click here to read more.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Tennessee congressman has introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris following President Joe Biden’s move to end his presidential campaign and endorse Harris to take over on Sunday.

Congressman Andy Ogles introduced the impeachment articles for “high crimes and misdemeanors.” The two articles were introduced on Tuesday for what he says is Harris’ refusal to uphold immigration laws and a breach of public trust.

“The articles cite her gross incompetence in dealing with the crisis at the southern border and her betrayal of the American people,” Ogles office said. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - The man who told authorities that he traveled from California to Maryland with the intent to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh will be heading to trial, court documents show.

Nicholas John Roske, then 26, traveled to the Kavanaugh home in Maryland in June 2022 with the express intent of killing Kavanaugh and two other justices after he saw their addresses posted online, according to a U.S. Department of Justice affidavit. Authorities found him carrying soft-soled boots, a Glock pistol, a tactical knife, two pistol magazines, pepper spray, a crow bar, a screwdriver, and a hammer.

“I’m gonna stop Roe v. Wade from being overturned,” Roske told a friend in an online conversation, according to an FBI search warrant obtained by Fox News, saying he would “remove some people from the Supreme Court.” Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senior U.S. Army officials said Thursday that training materials labeling prominent anti-abortion organizations as “terrorist groups” have been used for at least seven years.

The admission comes after a House and Senate inquiry into training materials leaked from a training seminar at Fort Liberty, formerly Fort Bragg, in North Carolina.

WASHINGTON D.C.

“The information that I have at this time indicates that this set of slides has been used for at least the last seven years by the Directorate of Emergency Services at Fort Liberty to train soldiers as they prepare to take on instillation access duties,” wrote Army Secretary Christine Wormuth to Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC). Click here to read more.

MICHIGAN PORK ALERT

🚨PORK ALERT🚨Mackinac County, Michigan —one of Michigan’s smaller counties—received the highest per capita pork funding, at a staggering $725 per person. Meanwhile, Livingston County got just 62 cents per person. Even some of Michigan’s largest counties, like Oakland ($37 per capita) and Washtenaw ($76 per capita), received well below the average.

Even more shocking, 40 counties got nothing at all. That’s right—taxpayers in those areas helped fund this spending spree but saw none of the benefits. From Mackinac Center.

Detroit NBC Affiliate Omits Illegal Immigration Status in Coverage of Suspect Facing Life for Child Sexual Assault
WDIV Report Leaves Out Suspect’s Prior Deportation and Police Chief’s Condemnation in High-Profile Shelby Township Case

Shelby Township, MI – Joel Quintana-Dominguez, a 32-year-old who was living in Shelby Township, has been bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court to face trial on three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor under 13.

The charges, classified as life felonies, stem from multiple alleged assaults that took place in 2024.

The case, which has drawn significant attention due to the severity of the accusations and the suspect’s immigration status, was reported by numerous media organizations and stated publicly by the Shelby Twp. Police Department in 2024 — but key details were notably absent from a recent report by WDIV, Detroit’s NBC affiliate.

Did the writer omit this information on purpose, or did the writer not do research into the history of the case and unknowingly not report the information? Having worked in a newsroom I understand how some newsroom employees can fail to do a proper job of reporting given the amount of news happening in a given day.

If it was intentionally omitted, that is a major problem.

On July 15, 2024, Shelby Township Police began investigating Quintana-Dominguez following a report of sexual assault against a minor. Detectives uncovered evidence suggesting the assaults occurred on multiple occasions within the township. Acting quickly, law enforcement located the suspect in a mobile home community in Macomb County after receiving indications he may have been tipped off and was preparing to flee the country. Quintana-Dominguez was arrested and, on July 19, arraigned in Shelby Township’s 41-A District Court by Magistrate Verploeg. His bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety.

In a statement following the arraignment, Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide expressed outrage over the case: “I am disgusted and sickened after hearing the details of what Quintana-Dominguez is being charged with. I am also appalled to hear that he had been deported in the past and was able to find his way back into the United States. These types of actions from illegal aliens are harming the country.” Chief Shelide praised the detective bureau’s swift action in apprehending the suspect.

Court records confirm that Quintana-Dominguez had previously been deported and had re-entered the United States illegally—a critical detail that sheds light on the broader context of the case. On February 20, 2025, Shelby Township District Court transferred the case to Macomb County Circuit Court, with Quintana-Dominguez’s next hearing scheduled for March 6, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.

While WDIV reported on February 21, 2025, that Quintana-Dominguez faces trial for the alleged assaults, their coverage omitted several significant aspects of the story. The NBC affiliate failed to mention the suspect’s illegal immigration status, his prior deportation, the possibility he was attempting to flee the country, and the strong statements from Chief Shelide condemning both the alleged crimes and the suspect’s presence in the U.S. These omissions leave out key elements that have fueled local discussion about the case, particularly in light of ongoing national debates over immigration policy and public safety.

Once again, I would hope this was an error by the reporter and not something that was done intentionally. If the station updates the web story I will update this story.

DENVER, COL - Now that Colorado’s semiautomatic firearm ban has passed the senate all eyes are on the house, where the bill must pass in order to make its way to Gov. Jared Polis’s (D) desk.

Breitbart News noted that the ban passed in the Colorado Senate by a vote of 19-15 — and all 19 votes in favor of the measure were cast by Democrats.

The ban covers America’s most popular rifle, the AR-15, as well as numerous semiautomatic shotguns and pistols.

The bill says:

The bill defines a “specified semiautomatic firearm” as a semiautomatic rifle or semiautomatic shotgun with a detachable magazine or a gas-operated semiautomatic handgun with a detachable magazine. The bill prohibits knowingly manufacturing, distributing, transferring, selling, or purchasing a specified semiautomatic firearm; except that a person may transfer a specified semiautomatic firearm to an heir, an individual residing in another state, or a federally licensed firearm dealer.

The bill passed the Senate after a deal was struck to allow exemptions to the ban for would-be gun buyers who cooperate with special prepurchase conditions and requirements, including training and a vetting process similar to that required for a concealed carry permit. Click here to read more.

TIMMINS, Ontario - A doctor learned he was having a heart attack while treating a cardiac patient who was experiencing the same symptoms the doctor had displayed for months.

According to a press release from Timmins and District Hospital (TDH), Dr. Chris Loreto had been experiencing intense chest pains for over four months, which he chalked up to acid reflux. Specifically, the pain would reach its highest intensity during exercise and the acid reflux medication his doctor prescribed was not helping.

The pain came to a head on Nov. 12 while Loreto was playing hockey, but he "shrugged it off," according to TDH, the hospital Loreto worked for.

"He went to work the next morning," the release said. "Near the end of his shift, a patient had a massive heart attack which Dr. Loreto jumped in to help with. Afterwards, he spoke to the patient's wife to learn more about his symptoms leading up to this event. Both he and the patient were on the same medication for acid reflux."

BOSTON, MASS - Experts from Yale University have discovered an alarming syndrome linked to the mRNA Covid vaccines.

The previously-unknown condition - dubbed 'post-vaccination syndrome' - appears to cause brain fog, dizziness, tinnitus and exercise intolerance.

Some sufferers also show distinct biological changes, including differences in immune cells and the presence of coronavirus proteins in their blood, years after taking the shot.

The condition also appears to reawaken a dormant virus in the body called Epstein-Barr which can cause flu-like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes and nerve issues.

The full results of the small study have not yet been published, and the Yale experts emphasized the results 'are still a work in progress.'

Yet the findings, from a well-respected institution, suggest more research on post-vaccination syndrome is needed, independent experts said.

The next phase of the research will be to ascertain how widespread the condition is and who is most at risk. Click here to read more.

ATLANTA, GA _ A Georgia woman is suing a fertility clinic after she says she was implanted with a stranger’s embryo.

Krystena Murray, 38, gave birth to a healthy black baby boy in December 2023, following IVF treatments. However, Murray is white, as is the male donor, who has “dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.”

After the woman says she told Coastal Fertility Specialists (CFS) of their error, the clinic notified the baby’s biological parents, who sued Murray for custody of the child. Murray says she gave up the five-month-old baby instead of continuing to pursue a legal fight she was told she couldn’t win. Murray has not seen the baby since.

“To carry a baby, to fall in love with him, to deliver him, to build that uniquely special bond between a mother and a child, all to have him taken away,” Murray said at a press conference on Tuesday. “I’ll never be the same woman, I’ll never fully heal or completely move on and part of me will always long for my son.” Click here to read more.

DENVER, COL - Anne Marie Hochhalter, who was shot and paralyzed in the Columbine High School mass shooting in 1999, died on Sunday of natural causes, Fox News Digital has learned. She was 43.

Hochhalter, one of 23 people who were injured and survived the Littleton, Colorado, massacre, was confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of her life due to her injuries and is being remembered as a "pillar of strength" in her community.

She was shot in the back and chest as she ate with friends in the school’s cafeteria. Twelve students and one teacher were killed in the attack when twelfth-grade students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire. The shooters then killed themselves. Click here to read more.

In a significant policy shift, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that could withdraw federal funding from schools and universities mandating COVID-19 vaccinations. This move aligns with the administration's stance against vaccine mandates, emphasizing individual choice over institutional requirements. The order specifically targets COVID-19 vaccines, excluding other immunizations like those for measles and polio. Critics argue that this action may undermine public health efforts and compromise student safety.

Concurrently, the Trump administration is undergoing notable changes in its Cabinet composition. Notably, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent vaccine skeptic, has been nominated as Secretary of Health and Human Services. This appointment has raised concerns due to Kennedy's history of questioning vaccine safety, potentially influencing public health policies and vaccine programs. Despite controversies, the GOP-majority Senate is expected to confirm most of Trump's nominees. Click here to read more.

NEW YORK, NY - The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) sued the Trump administration Wednesday over the loss of tens of millions in federal funding for its services for illegal migrants.

The Catholic organization claims its loss of millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars is a violation of the Refugee Act of 1980, Fox News reported.

“For decades, the US government has chosen to admit refugees and outsourced its statutory responsibility to provide those refugees with resettlement assistance to non-profit organizations like USCCB,” the lawsuit alleges.

“But now, after refugees have arrived and been placed in USCCB’s care, the government is attempting to pull the rug out from under USCCB’s programs by halting funding,” the suit adds. Click here to read more.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF - About $4.7 trillion in payments from the Treasury Department were missing a code that allowed them to be tracked, according to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project.

DOGE, led by billionaire Elon Musk, announced its discovery on X.

“The Treasury [Account] Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process),” the post said. “In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going.”

Musk also touted the announcement, calling it a “[m]ajor improvement in Treasury payment integrity.” Click here to read more.

ATLANTA, GA - A Georgia woman says her journey to motherhood has left her “emotionally and physically broken,” and now she is suing the company responsible.

Even as a child, Krystena Murray, 38, of Savannah, always told people it was her dream to be a mom. Two years ago, she became pregnant after undergoing in vitro fertilization, a life-changing procedure for people trying to have a child.

She said her joy was taken away within seconds of delivery after discovering that the fertility clinic had made a fateful mistake. She is now suing Coastal Fertility Specialists for negligence.

Murray had turned to Coastal Fertility Specialists to help her get pregnant. She began treatment in early 2023 and became pregnant the second time an embryo was implanted in her uterus. She gave birth in December 2023, but within 15 seconds of the baby boy’s arrival, her life had changed forever.

“He was beautiful and literally the best thing I had ever seen. But it was also immediately apparent that he was African-American,” said Murray, who, along with her sperm donor, is white. Click here to read more.

LANSING, Mich - Michigan school districts including Lansing and Waverly in the capital region are pushing back against President Donald Trump’s executive order allowing immigration officers on school property.

Local district officials have changed or updated policies to affirm “welcoming school” resolutions and implement measures to protect any undocumented students and their families.

The Waverly Community Schools Board of Education on Monday passed a resolution “affirming commitment to a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment for all students regardless of immigration status,” according to The Lansing State Journal.

The resolution specifically states that all students, regardless of their immigration status, have the same rights to an education and privacy. In late January, the district’s superintendent posted on social media that ‘schools should be sanctuaries’ for undocumented students, FOX 47 News reported. Click here to read more.
