Illegal Immigrant Wanted for Gang Ties Captured After Arkansas Traffic Stop

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at around 9 a.m., Arkansas State Police (ASP) conducted a routine traffic stop on a green Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 near mile marker 160 in North Little Rock.

During the stop, the passenger, later identified as 42-year-old Elias Avila Bustillo of El Salvador, fled on foot into a nearby field. Authorities, including additional troopers, ASP Air Support, and a K9 unit from the Arkansas Department of Corrections, responded and apprehended Bustillo about an hour later.

Bustillo was found to be in the United States illegally and is wanted in El Salvador for gang-related activities. He is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice, an international request for law enforcement to locate and arrest him.

He was transported to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office in Little Rock and remains in the custody of U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.

Michigan Democrats push bill making it harder for parents to remove explicit books from libraries

Lansing, MI – In a move that has raised alarm among parents and community leaders, Michigan House Democrats have introduced a bill that could significantly shift decision-making power within district libraries. The "District Library Freedom to Read Act," House Bill 6035, proposes new guidelines that many believe will strip local library boards—and by extension, the community—of their voice in determining what materials are suitable for public access

The bill mandates that library directors have ultimate authority over what content is included in or removed from a library’s collection. While proponents argue this centralization ensures consistency and protects diverse perspectives, critics see it as an overreach that sidelines local values and the community-elected boards tasked with representing them.

Hope Riley, a newly elected member of the Caro Area District Library Board in Tuscola County, voiced her concerns in an interview, saying, “This bill hands significant power to the library...

Trump’s Victory: A Major Wake-Up Call to Mainstream Media

In a shocking turn of events that defied the expectations of political analysts and media powerhouses alike, former President Donald Trump secured an election victory that has sent shockwaves across the country. For many, this result isn’t just about politics; it’s an undeniable indication of a broader trend: the growing disconnect between mainstream media and the public they purport to serve.

Mainstream Media’s Dwindling Trust and Engagement
For years, mainstream media has been viewed as a cornerstone of American democracy. However, this perception has been shifting. According to a 2024 Gallup poll, trust in mainstream media has hit a record low, with only 26% of Americans expressing confidence in national news organizations. This erosion of trust is echoed by declining ratings and readership. For instance, CNN’s prime-time audience has plummeted by 40% in recent years, while other major outlets, like MSNBC and The ...

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan News Source has learned that Michigan legislators have plans to introduce a sweeping bill this month that could radically change the state’s public school curriculum around sex education, gender identity, and reproductive health. Fast-tracked for the lame duck session, the bill aims to reshape traditional values in schools, sparking intense opposition from critics who see it as an overreach of Democratic government ideologies that would affect approximately 1.3 million students in nearly 3,000 public schools across the state

According to Salt & Light Global, a religious advocacy group, this is the current state of sex education in the state: “Currently, children typically begin studying Sex Education in upper elementary school (as early as grades 3 and 4) with continued studies throughout high school. A board of community members, including parents, teachers, and clergy work with the local school board to approve curriculum in each district, in accordance with legislative guidelines that teach abstinence first, alongside elements of healthy relationships, consent and refusal skills, and how to mitigate health risks. Students also learn about healthy family life and how think carefully about the long-term impact of their actions. Current standards actively involve parents and do not allow for school teaching on abortion or distribution of contraceptives.” Click here to read more.

LOS ANGELES, CALIF - Kamala Harris’ failed bid for the presidency had an estimated cost of more than $1 billion. According to one report, a portion of that money went to celebrities and social media influencers who touted the Democratic candidate on their sizable platforms.

For example, Oprah Winfrey‘s company, Harpo Productions, received $1 million from the Harris campaign on October 15 after Winfrey hosted a town hall event for the campaign in September, per The Washington Examiner.

Oprah was also featured at Harris’ final campaign rally in Philadelphia just days before the election, where she warned voters to get to the polls instead of being tempted to “sit this one out.”

“If we don’t show up tomorrow, it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again,” Oprah warned at the time. “And let me be very clear, if you do not make sure that the people in your life can get to the polls, that is a mistake.” Click here to read more.

NEW YORK, NY - Mattel has apologized after boxes for some of its new dolls from the movie "Wicked" included a link to a pornographic website.

The packages for the dolls were printed with a web address to an adult film site with the same name as the upcoming movie musical starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Customers who noticed the mistake shared images of the toy boxes on social media.

Sarah Genao, a popular YouTube creator who makes videos about Legos, told ABC News she first heard about the printing mishap on Reddit and went to Target to see it for herself.

"I thought it was really funny initially, but I was also concerned because this went under the radar," she said, noting the dolls had already been on shelves for weeks. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Elon Musk has thrown down a $2 trillion gauntlet, claiming he can slash federal spending by that amount. While the billionaire's proclamations on X often generate more heat than light, one can only hope he will succeed.

The real question isn't whether we can cut $2 trillion from a bloated $6.8 trillion federal budget—we absolutely can. After all, the government managed to function at $4.4 trillion five years ago, and American civilization didn't collapse. The economy was humming, wages were rising, and poverty was falling.

The fact that it's feasible, however, does not mean Musk will actually succeed. Before Washington's army of spending defenders, many of them Republicans, starts wailing about draconian cuts, let's discuss the actual question: how to trim the fat without harming the muscle.

Theoretically, one of the most straightforward budget-cutting approaches is an across-the-board or uniform-reduction rule. There is plenty to cut everywhere in the budget, including the large slice that funds the Department of Defense. The Congressional Budget Office's biennial Options for Reducing the Deficit lists reductions to the Pentagon's budget that would save $995 billion over ten years. Click here to read more.

FEMA and Oscoda, Michigan staging area social media post
FEMA and Oscoda Twp. have just issued statements

OSCODA, MICH - A social most post that has gone viral has a lot of people asking questions about FEMA and Oscoda, Michigan.

The post states “FEMA is staging 350 Semi-Trailers and Equipment at an Air Force Bases in Oscoda, Michigan. The AFB was decommissioned in the 90’s. It’s for emergency services.

A video was also posted online showing an Oscoda Twp. official talking about this at a recent meeting saying FEMA was possibly coming to Wurtsmith.

I reached out to FEMA for explanation and they released the following statement:

“EMA routinely assesses the viability of sites that may be used in future disasters. There is no plan to use the Wurtsmith location to stage commodities at this time. We have no trailers at the location or on the way. This is an unfortunate misunderstanding."

Oscoda Twp. Manager Bill Palmer released the following statement:

“I misspoke at the Board meeting when I said FEMA was sending 350 semi's to Wurtsmith what I meant to say was Wurtsmith was being " considered" as a secure location along with 5 other possible locations for this secure staging of FEMA equipment, this would simply be a staging area for FEMA to cover some 6 counties in northern Michigan,as I understand, in case of an emergency or disaster of some kind, however at this time no decision has been made by FEMA to my knowledge.  And I have no idea why FEMA is considering this possible action.”

SACRAMENTO, CALIF - California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) called a special session of the California legislature to “Trump-proof” the state against whatever the incoming federal administration intends to do — provoking a rebuke from the President-elect.

“I just called an emergency special session to help bolster our legal resources and protect our state against any unlawful actions by the incoming Trump Administration,” Newsom posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“Whether it be our fundamental civil rights, reproductive freedom, or climate action — we refuse to turn back the clock and allow our values and laws to be attacked.”

President-elect Trump responded on his social media platform, Truth Social, accusing Newsom of “using the term ‘Trump-Proof’ as a way of stopping all of the GREAT things that can be done to ‘Make California Great Again’.”

Newsom may try to become the leader of the so-called “resistance” to Trump — a glorified and controversial term for “opposition” — but it may prove more difficult for him, given that Trump won a popular majority, and nearly 40% of the vote in California itself.

Newsom clashed frequently with the first Trump administration, often over issues such as immigration, water, high-speed rail, and wildfires, though Trump provided emergency assistance to the state when needed. Click here to read more.

The FEMA supervisor who ordered relief workers to bypass the homes of Donald Trump’s supporters while administering hurricane aid in Florida has been fired following the Daily Wire report.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell announced Saturday that supervisor Marn’i Washington had been fired after she ordered federal employees under her supervision to“avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, according to messages shared with The Daily Wire by whistleblowers. These instructions were given both verbally and in writing, multiple government employees revealed.

“More than 22,000 FEMA employees every day adhere to FEMA’s core values and are dedicated to helping people before, during and after disasters, often sacrificing time with their own families to help disaster survivors. Recently, one FEMA employee departed from these values to advise her survivor assistance team to not go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Trump,” Criswell said in a statement. “This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. This was reprehensible.” Click here to read more.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/Gray News) - Two women now jailed in Colorado are accused of stealing ballots, altering them and then fraudulently submitting them for counting.

Fifty-nine-year-old Sally Jane Smith and a 64-year-old mail carrier, Vicki Lyn Stuart, are both charged with identity theft, attempting to influence a public servant and forgery for their involvement in an alleged scheme to “‘test’ the voting signature system for ballots utilized at elections,” according to the arrest affidavit.

Their goal, according to the affidavit, was to see if the forged signatures would be caught by the verification process.

Documents state that voters are still being tracked down and confirmed, but there may be 20 or more victims of the alleged scheme.

The two suspects were tracked down due to the fact that several of the ballots that were allegedly forged fell along the same mail delivery route; it was a route that was confirmed to be temporarily assigned to Stuart, the mail carrier.

Documents also stated that Stuart was interviewed by District Attorney Senior Investigator Rob Heil. He said Stuart was the person who allegedly delivered the ballots on that route.

Investigators also found that Stuart‘s GPS location showed her at the known victims’ houses on Oct. 12, the day when the affected ballots were supposed to be delivered.

Smith’s fingerprints were also allegedly found on a ballot by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation; it was a ballot she would not normally have access to as investigators found she was never an employee of the United States Postal Service or Mesa County Elections Department.

Arrest documents state that, eventually, law enforcement contacted Smith at her home. Click here to read more.

WASHINGTON D.C. - Every year on Veterans Day, communities nationwide unite to honor all who served or are still serving in the military. From parades and ceremonies to special events, the day honors veterans' contributions to our country and shows appreciation for their sacrifices. It is also a time to reflect on the challenges veterans can face when returning home or transitioning into civilian life.

While the textbook meaning of Veterans Day provides a general understanding of what it is and why we celebrate, the individual perspectives of veterans capture the day's essence. Each veteran Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves has unique experiences that shape what Veterans Day means to them.

Veterans Day was initially known as Armistice Day and celebrated the end of World War I. The armistice, or call for peace, by the Germans was signed on Nov. 11, 1918, at the “eleventh hour” and ended the fighting between Allied forces and Germany. President Woodrow Wilson established Armistice Day one year later to honor those who served in WWI and celebrate the peace that followed.

After World War II and the Korean War, veterans service organizations urged the U.S. Congress to amend the holiday to be more inclusive of all veterans. Thus, Veterans Day was officially born in 1954 to honor American veterans, past and present. President Dwight D. Eisenhower was responsible for formally changing the name. WASHINGTON D.C. - In the final days of President-elect Donald Trump's 2024 campaign, he honed in on a culture war issue that may have locked in more swing votes and with it the election, a conservative activist instrumental in the ad campaign argues.

"Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you," the narrator of Trump's advertisement said.

The ad, which focused on men in women's sports and Vice President Kamala Harris' track record of ushering in sex change procedures for incarcerated people in California, was in part due to the influence of American Principles Project's president, Terry Schilling, who began pushing out these ads in 2019.
